Quality Inn Alachua - Gainesville Area - Hotel in Alachua - 15960 NW US Hwy 441, USA

Only stayed for a few hours, room in back facing pool. The room felt a bit claustrophobic bc there are only windows facing out one direction. No safety issues but the breezeway access to the back side of hotel did give me a vibe that I wouldn’t want to be going to my car @ 2am alone. Didn’t have time to test the shower, TV or breakfast - but the location is good, close to freeway, UF, food, etc, - the parking was free & ample, the Wi-Fi worked as expected and the front-desk people were great. This is a good place for a busy stay that only entails needing a place to sleep for a few hours, not sure it’s destination / hang-out / work-remotely lodging. As long as you keep those expectations in mind and don’t expect amenities+, it’s a good place and I would stay again for those travel conditions.

I’ll have to say I am pleasantly surprised by our last minute stay here at the Quality Inn Alachua. If you are looking to save a few dollars this is a great choice. Staff is accommodating, rooms are fresh and clean. Lounge and breakfast area is pleasant. I can not say enough how impressed I am that I did not get a bitter cup of coffee, which is the opposite of Hilton counterpart these days. I know my fellow coffee drinkers will appreciate that. Anyway, decorations and other things need improvements but for the most part I give this a plus plus for saving a few dollars and also in looking for a safe, and clean place. AC did not work too well in all areas, but this is the first abnormally hot weekend of the summer season.

Please see my pics, the front curtains don't fully close unless you tape them shut so the construction workers partying outside our room could look right in. The alarm clock at random times will throw out static noises, even with the alarm and radio turned off. Refrigerator gets a little cold, not cold enough to keep drinks cold, and the freezer couldn't freeze 2 ice packs overnight. This was on the coldest setting.|Bathroom needs repair, again, see pics. I think they may be going through renovations, because there were a lot of construction workers hanging around late at night partying close to our room (it was a Thursday night). They took some of the furniture from the pool and made a smoking area away from the rooms. Oh, the pool furniture, there were 2 chaise lounges in the pool area, both of them were ripped so badly you couldn't sit on them. Our ice machine didn't work, had to go to the farthest one from our room.|On the plus side, staff was friendly, bed was comfy, breakfast was good, they had 2 of those typical hotel waffle makers, but no eggs or breakfast meats. White bread only, no bagels, pastries or English muffins. Also, coffee, cold cereal (captain crunch berries and corn flakes), yogurt, fresh fruit, a juice dispenser and white bread as I mentioned above.|Overall thought, it's a 2-3 star hotel that is ok for a one, maybe 2 night stay. If I was vacationing, I'd look elsewhere.

I've been traveling here to check on my parents and now a rental property for years. This is always my go to place to stay. It's simple, clean, usually quiet and the best overall value in town. I always stay multiple nights. There are several good restaurants nearby. I could spend a lot more on a hotel, but why??

So we use to stay here a lot but this time it wasn't good despite heat wave the AC should of worked better supposedly u can't lower it to 65 or even lower which Is unheard of they explain why the room wouldn't cool down we were in shade but we spent most of time at springs but after long hot day u would want to comeback to cold room my mom room was good my bro n me n my gf room weren't they supposedly fixed it didn't cool till 4am it was chill but not as cold then we decided after 5 years here we're prob not coming back the rooms are updated nearly and new ac yet ac won't cool as good then bathrooms weren't updated at all which is like come on! But gm was nice gave a refund were appreciated by it and she did everything she could she was very help ful but just rooms

Disgusting place to even think about sleeping. The floors are filthy and the bathroom is dingy. The room smelled terrible, like they just sprayed it with air freshener but don't clean where the root of the problem is. People want to sleep where it is clean and fresh and have a little peace of mind, before traveling again. But Yikes, your place is a rats nest.

We ended up having to find a hotel last minute. We looked for the most reasonable price which was Quality Inn. The front desk lady Ms. Shelly was such a a delightful person and made us feel at easy. I would recommend this hotel to everyone seeking a clean, reasonably priced and friendly service. Ms. Shelly if you ever read this just know I will always remember our conversation pertaining my visit with my mom, and want to thank you for being so kind and helpful.

spare yourself some grief and stay somewhere else. i booked this hotel for 8 days because the insulation and roof is getting redone at my house and all of the other hotels were booked up since UF student families are in town. i called them the day prior to check in to let them know i'm disabled and needed a room on the ground and that i needed to check in first thing in the morning at 7am instead of 4pm and i was told it was fine, they would have a room on the ground for me and i could check in early! at 7am i went to check in, and they told me they had no rooms!! i watched a guy check out and asked if we could wait. they told us housekeeping doesn't get there until 10am. i can't drive and taking an uber only 15 minutes away would have cost me over 30 dollars, so i was sitting in my husband's car parked outside of his job with my two dogs from 8am until my husband got off work because he HAD to work at 8, luckily my boss was a little more lenient. the room wasn't ready for us until noon but at that point he couldn't leave work to drop me and the dogs off. once we got there, the room itself was dirty and i could hear every single sound because there is no kind of noise cancellation and the walls are thin. my feet were black and i was walking on the floor for less than 5 minutes. lots of random holes in the caulking in the bathroom, the AC was gurgling. and i needed good wifi to be able to work but their speeds were ranging from 0.33mbps to 2.6mbps, i couldn't even load a webpage. i have verizon service and only had 1 bar in this area so i couldn't make work calls either. in total i was in this room for less than an hour, because i NEEDED to be somewhere i could do my job and make business calls. i got charged over 200 dollars to cancel my stay, and the day after i checked out they charged my card for all 8 days on a card they shouldn't have even had on file, and gave me and my whole family garbage about getting our money back. and STILL will not refund the 200+ dollars from being in that room for less than an hour. so BEWARE they will basically steal from you. avoid this place!!!! edit: it is now 5 days later, they actually have not refunded me about 890 dollars. they charged me for the whole 8 days we booked. even though i was in the room for slightly less than an hour. i read the cancellation policy and i was only supposed to be charged 128 dollars plus the pet fee. which would have been fine. but they charged my mom about 300 dollars and charged me 890? absolutely insane! we can't pay our bills or eat because this money was supposed to come off of my mother's card and not mine. as for the response from Leslie McMahan, this is not about "not meeting my expectations for third party booking" - you have NO right to even take that money from me if you already took the cancellation money from my mother. according to booking you should never have even asked for us to have a card on file because THEY send you a temporary card number. you are a con artist. have a terrible day. :)
