Quality Inn - Hotel in Salinas - 144 Kern St, USA

Positive: hot water and a bed. Negative: everything was worn down. the door didn't lock when closed. many light fixtures didn't work. It wasn't a safe location. old elevator barely worked. dirty towels folded nicely for me to use. breakfast area was inadequate vs other choice properties.

Positive: The staff was welcoming and friendly. Checking n was easy. Negative: Hotel could be kept up better. 12? diameter hige stain on carpet inside front door.

Although more affordable than other hotels of the area this was the least satisfactory of all our stays during a week in california. The mattress was covered in plastic which made me sleep very hot. The free breakfast was of only fair quality but was plentiful. The breakfast room could only accommodate about 7 people maximum and was very cramped at that level. Our room failed to have a hair dryer and it took a day for staff to find us one. Traffic in front of the hotel was heavy in mornings and evenings making access challenging. The room was normally functional other than these complaints.

Not sure where to start with this but here goes..... ||The place is a dump. Dirty, dilapidated, kinda gross. Reserved 2 rooms for a night in June 2024. First impression, the lobby is not very inviting but hey, I'm not staying in the lobby and this is a "Quality" Inn, right? ||Room #1 had a missing smoke detector, a creepy unsealed attic access directly above the bed (peek-a-boo, i c u!), used tissues in the ice bucket, and used soap bars in the shower. The toilet handle is flopping around but still flushes the bowl (whew!), however when I saw the hairs on the bathroom floor I knew I would not be taking a shower here. The plastic mattress protector under the sheets makes for a crinkly, noisy night of sleep.||Room #2 had a peculiar smell to it, the same plastic mattress protector, but what really set it off was the window. I'm not sure what year it was that it shattered, but it had been long enough for about an inch of putrid, rusty water to accumulate between the panes. Open that one at your own risk.|| Breakfast.... no way I was going to participate in that. But I'm certain it was delicious.||Checkout was a breeze because the office is closed in the morning. You just drop your room key in the slot and hope for the best. Thankfully the final bill was ok.||In summation I do not recommend this motel. The Motel 6 next door, and the Super 8 across the street looked a lot nicer. And both of those had pools too.

I don't like writing bad reviews but I feel the need to forewarn people about staying at this hotel. The person at the front desk was nice, but our room was unsatisfactory. It had burn marks all over the furniture even though it was a non-smoking room. The sheets and covers were stained and my son found a bug in his bed. The mattresses were covered in plastic so they crinkled all night. The lighting in the room was cr*p and the inside security latch didn't work. Basically, the room wasn't acceptable especially for the price we paid. And, the free breakfast was an absolute joke. It was in a room the size of a broom closet and consisted of coffee, bread and apples. Stay away, not worth it, even for free.

I loved this hotel ! It’s a great price and the front desk is great too! They gave my key card fast ! I had no problems! When I went to the mall ! And came back my room was cleaned ! The room is very simple and it has a very clean tub ! The only problem I had was the sheets but they were super nice and changed them ! Im willing to book with you guys again !

Honestly if I could give this place a zero I would , rooms where very dirty and tub had black stuff all over them the beds had some plastic to it so you would move and make a huge noice then my key had stopped working for some reason and I go to the front desk and no one was there so I call them the guy there said he’s in the property he will come and I waited and when he go there he looked like he had just woken up from his sleep then I proceeded to tell him that my key isn’t working and I give it to him. He does whatever he has to do in the computer then he just throws it to the counter and walks away! So I told him is it gonna work now and as he’s walking away, he says it should but at this point, I’m just talking to his back , wish I would’ve gotten his name but he didn’t even have a name tag or anything he was white with no hair , then I asked for an extra pillow for my baby and dude said “there’s none !” How do y’all don’t have any it’s a hotel! Have extra supplies honestly wish u could get a refund or something because worst experience ever hopefully management reads this and steps it up

I went there for a family get together and I just have to say say is too expensive for what you get. The room was dirty, the walls, toilet and carpet were extremely dirty. I had the non smoking room yet it smelled of smoke. Once I was checking out they were about to hang on to my deposit without hesitation until I asked if I was getting my deposit back. Make sure you take pictures of before and after for your room to get your deposit back. Be aware of sketchy people going in and out.
