Contender for my favorite coffee shop in DC. Delicious baked goods, nice seating area, and nice music. Also they sell coffee beans and materials!
First things first. Get the vegan banana oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, before anything else just get that. If you do that there is a 100% chance you're not disappointed in your visit. I had the chai latte it was pretty good. I also had a cranberry orange muffin that was also pretty good. The staff was cool and the drinks were made rather quickly. I'd say this is a low-key coffee shop that's pretty unique.
My roommate and I typically get their roasted coffee beans to drink and make at home. I went in for a latte and it was so good and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the coffee shop. I was surprised at how affordable the latte was!
Their baked goods are really good but small selection and always out. Service in the other hand is horrible, the staff is so rude and unprofessional, especially the young lady that works morning with the short orangish hair and piercings. She makes it seems that she giving free food when we paying our money. She’s very rude and management needs to work on her customer service skills. Remember customers are the reason your business is open! No customers no business!
I visited the Qualia stand at the Fairlington farmers’ market today. The man at the stand was not nice at all. I asked for a cold brew without ice and the person working with him poured it and then he said I could not have it without ice because they only brew so much concentrate (even though the employee had already poured it!). I offered to pay for two and he rejected my offer and then I offered to leave a big tip and he continued to be hostile and say that the coffee wouldn’t taste right without ice. It was a very unpleasant experience and I will never go back. He made me feel like I had done something wrong, even after I offered to pay for two and give a big tip .
So grateful to have Qualia in the neighborhood! Stop in here most mornings for a coffee and to say hi to the wonderful people who work here. And it’s always a pleasure to see the neighborhood dogs inside the shop ☺️
A "large" drink at Qualia is a small at any other coffee shop and the price doesn't reflect that at all. Customers are always bringing dogs in the shop, too. Not cool.
