Putney Mountain Trailhead - Hiking area in Putney - 443 Putney Mountain Rd, USA

Not well marked in the winter. It starts at a road that's shut down in the winter. Two options. Hike the shut down part of the road or a small unmarked trail in to the woods. We chose to follow the road and it was wonderful. Just hard enough to get a work out but not dangerous and great woodsy views. When we got back to the car we took a peek at the trail, saw a 4" sign and a very nondescript trail anyone could have missed. But we enjoyed our winter walk very much.

Great for a short hike and it connects to longer trails. Beautiful views at the top. Dogs are allowed on the trail.

Short hike to the top, but the view is outstanding. Worth every step.

I grew up hiking Putney ⛰️ as a kid during Summer camp in nearby Newfane; usually during the 4th of July weekend to see 🎆🎇 from the summit. The view is BEAUTIFUL (you can see VT, NY, NH, MA & even down into CT & RI on clear days. Good views of Haystack, Mt. Snow & Stratton as well. 👍

Good trails, well maintained while truly feeling in nature. Lovely view of New Hampshire in one direction and Mt Stratton on the other from the summit.

Beautiful hike to take any day of the week.

Beautiful, has defined trails. Some people had their dogs. Signs for safe distancing. Peaceful and kept clean. Most hikers follow good habits here!
