Punta Gorda airport is a convenient option for traveling in and out of SW Florida. At this time, the commercial airline that serves the airport is Allegiant Airlines. The airport currently has construction happening and one of the short term parking lots was full at the time I travelled (August). Otherwise, checking in and going through security were easy processes. The options for food and drink have expanded since my last visit, but are still fairly limited due to the size of the airport.

This airport is awesome. It's never too busy and I just found out recently that at baggage claim they added a little Dunkin Donuts. Parking is easy and right there, the first 40 min of short term is free, after that I believe it's a dollar an hour. The workers are nice and it's a very small airport. The restrooms are clean and the TSA line is normally very very short so if you're running late don't fret. I also attached a photo of the policies that they have regarding military, retired or active duty. Enjoy your time in SWFL!

Nice little airport. Nothing fancy about it, but it gets you where you need to go. Quick TSA and nice people.nice little store sells breakfast all day, beers and all the essentials. 12 trips through and still love it. Expanding right now, can't wait to see what changes are coming

This airport seems to fly strictly Allegiant flights. We had a nonstop flight to/from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Staff was friendly around the airport. It was very small and clean. The gift shop/convenience store was the highest priced airport convenience store I've experienced while flying Allegiant and American Airline stops in the last 10 years. Despite that, I would fly in/out of Punta Gorda again.

12 hours later the truth is that I do not recommend this airline, the same thing has already happened to me twice.

Absolute worst airport. Got stuck twice because they don’t have indoor ramps when they could definitely afford it. Sat on a plane the first time for 3 hours and only got offered warm water and a tiny bag of pretzels. Do better Allegiant if you’re going to waste my time at least refund my ticket. Do not come to this airport spend the extra $30 to fly out of a different one because in the end it’s not worth it

Not a passenger friendly airport at all. No jet bridge so everyone had to walk up 2 ramps, 1 of which is quite steep. No coverage from the blazing sun (up to 100 degrees in the summer. Both flights the plane was at the opposite end of the airport so have to walk outside in the heat to the plane. Watched several elderly people struggling with the distance to the plane and the ramps. The AC never seems to be working & never enough seats. Poor lightening in the long term lot in front of the airport, did not feel safe at all. Avoid this airport if you can.

Nice scaled down airport compared to the bigger international airports. Easier to get to the ticket counters, luggage’s, gates and through the TSA check points. Just note that not all airlines fly through here. We flew on Allegiant Airlines and I did see Delta Airlines there also. It was quick to get to from I-75, and there was lots of parking of approximately $7 a day. And I heard there is a free 1 hour grace period for pick ups and drop offs.
