Puglia’s Italian Steakhouse - Featured Reviews (230)
A classic restaurant, with not so good Italian classics...the calamari was greasy, the stuffed artichoke was not cooked enough, too bad for a landmark name like Puglia's!
NYC has always been a family favorite since the 1950's to be exact so let that tell you how much we like this place. I just like to tell it like it is though when we visited their Seaford location.
However, the shrimp oregano was great over angel hair pasta, chicken caprese is delish(a little small this time, see pic), the custom cavatelli with sausage broccoli rabe, chicken and alavodka gravy are all a must try ( this one not on the menu so just ask for it, you'll love it), our server was a little overwhelmed by us ordering apps and a drink at the same time(seamed odd), ended up forgetting to take drink order, and then got lost couldn't find her to order dessert, forgot to bring our dessert shot too! Yeah one other important detail to make note is that this place is very loud, You can hear the person across the table easier in Yankee Stadium! Oh well overall we enjoyed our meal, the server was pleasant and friendly gave us plenty attention(just disappeared a couple times right when we needed her). Please give this place a try anyway, all our entrees were quite good.
We have been meaning to try for some time, finally got around to it and boy, regret waiting.
Food and service were excellent. We had the baked clams, which were super fresh and tasty, long bone veal chop, cooked to perfect temp and excellent, and steamed while lobster, also cooked perfectly. For dessert, pistachio tartufo and one of the banana desserts (forgot name, served i a pastry bun, salted caramel ice cream, carmelized banana, etc.), which was one of the best desserts we've had.
Jamie, who was our waiter was fabulous!
Puglia’s Italian Steakhouse is yet one more fine restaurant in Seaford. They are located on Merrick Road, right next to my other local favorite, Cara Mia’s. It is a tough choice between them, but when in the mood for a good steak with a side of Italian Puglia’s is the place to go. The Italian side of the house has all the classics. The Scungilli in a Fra Diavolo sauce and Chivalini Sausage Wheel are two of my favorite starters, followed by the Chicken Valdastano as a main. On our last visit, we were both looking for steak, and in addition to the large rib eye, NY strip, and porterhouse, they have several daily specials.
I opened with the Seafood salad, which consists of a large portion of shrimp, scallops, calamari (very tender) served over Iceberg lettuce, olives, and celery. The dressing was an EVOO and citrus vinaigrette well-seasoned but not overpowering to mask the delicate seafood flavors. Jo had the Caesar salad, which arrives with fresh Romain lettuce and crispy well-flavored croutons. For the main event, we shared the 40 oz Tomahawk Steak cooked medium-rare. The steak was a fine prime hunk of well-marbled meat cooked slightly to the rare side, which is just the way we like it. The grill will cook your steak to your preferred temperature, ranging from an extremely rare (ok raw in the center and well charred on the outside) black and blue to nicely well done as you would find in the upscale restaurant in the city. We complemented our steak with cream spinach and sauteed mushrooms. Each side was more than enough for two, and we had plenty to take home. We have been here many times before, and the food is consistently excellent. The staff is amicable and quickly gets to know you, so your opening cocktail arrives before you even ask. But the employees were kind and did an awesome job. The employees kept Asking me if everything was running smoothly and checking in on me. I’ll totally be throwing more family events here, they’re trustworthy with their parties!! Thank you puglias ! staff & Lynn !!
We attended my great nephews first communion party at Puglia's. Food was outstanding! Portions were huge. Service was superb. They didn't rush us and try to take plates away like some restaurants. One guest at our table ordered A NY strip steak and ordered Medium well done. Being those steaks on the thin side it was over done. The steak was immediately replaced with a medium done steak. Being it was a family event it was extra nice. Enjoyed this restaurant immensely.
Very good food, excellent service and nice atmosphere. Price to quality ratio is good
AMAZING !! As always! Great food, delicious desserts, & SUPER friendly staff !!
