Absolutely phenomenal experience here. My wife and I will absolutely be returning. The paella elote dish was insanely good. Reservations were super easy and amazing vibes. I cannot wait to come back!!!!!!

Great new spot in Carmel. Love Spanish food to tried the tapas and they were great. Loved The croquetas so much we ordered it twice! A hint if nutmeg in it which was a great twist. Had to try the jamón serrano as well. Definitely stop in and try it.

Today’s date with hubby was at a recently opened restaurant Promesa in Carmel by the Sea @promesacarmel Because the weather was so perfect (still summer), we enjoyed the patio and had al fresco Tapas tasting with a memorable bottle of wine 🍷 ❣️ Pinot Noir 🍷 from 2020 Jack Creek Cellars, Hillside Reserve, Paso Robles, California @jackcreekcellars Tasted like blackberries, spiced plums, and herbs. Sweet nose, followed by powdered tannin, and soft acidity. 👌 ❣️ BOQUERONES- how we love you. We ate those all summer long in Europe. Here: white anchovies were served with Meyer Lemon Coulis, Chili 🌶️ oil, and Cracked Marcona Almonds. Very small serving size, just a tasting. ❣️Gambas al Ajillo! Classic!! - garlic marinated shrimps (5 pieces) in white wine, lemon, paprika, and lots of olive oil sauce. Served with an edge of crispy baguette 🥖 ❣️ FAVORITE Gigantes- Marinated white beans 🫘 These were truly delicious and very satisfying 👏 ❣️ Calamares - fried squid with romesco sauce. Came in due to the great reviews. Really enjoyed the service, atmosphere and the presentation of the tapas. The food was delicious but too salty for me, other people may find it very flavorful though. Had a late lunch there and I had to drink lots of water after and had multiple bathroom breaks that night. It's on the expensive side, as a female with medium appetite, I ordered three tapas and added to a little over $60 before gratuity, lunch for one.

Everything we had was super delish! The best meal by far we had in Carmel, during our 5 night stay. The Paella was super flavourful & moist, the perfect consistency to go with the chicken schnitzel on top. Super friendly service. Do yourself a favour and skip the tourist traps and get yourself here instead.

Promesa was absolutely amazing. George the owner is very involved and makes the dining experience even better. He suggested a bottle of CAVA that was very refreshing and went well with our paella. Michael was our server and he was also great. The food was top notch too! We got almost all of the appetizers and you can’t go wrong with any of them. The mushroom paella was great too! It was so good I forgot to take a picture until it was too late!

We had lunch at Promesa and it was fantastic! The restaurant is beautiful with a Spanish chic flare with a nice patio area. Our server, Michael, was fantastic. He was a delight and made our dinning experience more enjoyable. We had the patatas bravas and zanahorias. They were delicious. We shared the Paella Del Mar and it was absolutely beautiful and very delicious. We will definitely return with the rest of the family. Highly recommend.

I had lunch here last Saturday. What a beautiful place! The food was great, the flamenco music and the interior design created a beautiful Spanish atmosphere. One of the owners came to say hi to me. Oh did I mention that bread was delicious?! I found this place kind of randomly, I didn’t fancy lining up in more popular places in Carmel, and I am very glad I came to Promesa. They are less known because they only opened the business this year. Excellent restaurant, I wish them a lot of success!
