It's a place that truly endorses Black Excellence in terms of the Arts and has a rich history embedded within the community. I love being in that space and now the Winter Motherland is there and is a sight to see. On display are Uhuru Quilts and they look amazing as strong bodies of work. Also showing how quilting has a long standing tradition within the black communities.

This Museum feels like home. Inspiration, Story, Color right when you walk through the door👌🏾 The staff is welcoming and their is always an interesting Event talking place. I held a community gathering here for the Youth in Arts, the Gallery Exhibition that surrounded us was the perfect touch. Kayla Harley

Went here for the first time for a camapign kick-off party and it's the perfect place. You do have to stay on top of the admin and remind them if you plan to host an event to make sure they'll be there to open the doors, but it's a quaint place for a mature audience, and they have a separate room with a kitchen for you to store your food.

Upset I took my kids to take pictures with Santa here during an advertised event but he had gone home early (two weeks in a row), so we missed him! It takes a lot to get ready for pictures, so wasted efforts and my oldest was so disappointed. The space looks more like a store than a museum. They also charge an admission fee for regular visits now, just fyi.

I really liked the Cultural Center in the fact it displayed not only history but featured art by students from area schools. I also liked that you were able to discuss different topics with those who worked there as well!

Just found out about it and it's location. And now it's on the top of my list to visit with my grandkids . Visited other African American museums around town but it's good to know that there's one that contains local ( DMV ) history
