Pretty Good Burger - Restaurant in Merced - 439 W Main St, USA

Pretty Good Burger is not just a name, I felt like I was eating a homemade burger from Mom's kitchen. Delicious. The fries are awesome too, thick steak fries in crinkle cut form, nice and hot.

THIS is the place that Merced has been missing! So many burger joints in Merced and all of them keep missing the mark or have just gotten complacent. They've got real competition now cause going forward if I want a GREAT smash burger, I'm going here. It definitely gave me that late 70's/80's smash burger diner feel with a modern twist. I got a "Double Pretty Good Burger" and got the sides - onion rings (fairly certain they're beer battered), fries, and a drink. And I gotta say that the burger was pretty good! And the price point was also a plus! I got it the way it came but added jalapenos as they didn't have bacon tonight. Although the patties were smashed right, they were pretty dry, this is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I'm going to try a triple and see if that fixes the problem like at in n out, however a smash burger should already be juicy even with just one patty. If they can fix that issue a 5 star update will be done. Overall it was a great old school smash burger, the onion rings and crinkle fries were PERFECT. Only thing missing is a shake machine! I'll definitely be going back, as again, this is what's been missing in Merced

I found myself thinking about this place a few times over the last two weeks after my first visit. I ordered a double “Pretty Classic Burger” this time and it more than hit the spot! The meat was juicy and seasoned well 👌🏼 This is the place in Merced to get a (sorry) pretty good burger 🍔😂

Came through with my family for dinner. They do have a grilled cheese option for kids, which is nice. They were out of fries when we went so we had tots. The onion rings are pretty good too. They do serve a good burger with a nice crispy sear, it's just a bit on the greasy side and gave me heartburn the next day. Otherwise it's a pretty decent burger it reminds me of the old school drive in type burgers. Also an FYI for the water drinkers they sell water bottles and they have water on tap as well but they charged like $2-3 for the tap water cup

Forget about any other burger place in town this is the spot! 😮‍💨⛽️ fresh ,flavor full , and fast! Loved that as soon as you walk in you smell lovely food! 😮‍💨🤌🧑‍🍳🔥🔥 the fries were a bit undercooked but literally just a bit like one more min would have been good! But we still ate them! Can’t wait to have more of this place!

I thought the service was very good and the food was up to par. I did believe the atmosphere to be that of nostalgic burger place and maybe mixed with that of a current burger joint if that makes any sense.

The food is always hot and delicious. The staff is super nice and helpful too. I've been here at least 3 times and haven't had a bad experience. I look forward to returning :) I really enjoy their fries with ranch, and it makes me come back!

Very great quality food for a good price! Absolutely loved the fries and onion rings. Fries are very seasoned and onion rings are flaky yet crispy at the same time and caramelized. So delicious. Much recommended.
