Portage Lake Motel - Motel in Onekama - 4714 Main St, USA

This is a great place to stay. We called, last minute, in search of a motel that provided easy fishing access to Portage Lake. Not only were we greeted kindly and efficiently on the phone, when we arrived a path through deep snow was carved out from the parking area to the lake. This made it enormously easy to pull our ice fishing equipment out onto the ice. |The rooms were clean, well decorated and recently remodeled. We were very comfortable. This will be our , go to, place to stay in this part of Michigan.

Came upon this amazing little gem by chance. Was very impressed by the quaint personally owned establishment overlooking Portage Lake. Wow what a view especially in the fall w/ all the beautiful colors. Nice rooms w/ very comfy beds & very clean. Owned by a very nice family. Always there to help make your stay in Onekama very enjoyable & personal.

New owners are very dedicated to providing a most pleasant experience for their guests. They are in the process of updating and upgrading this little gem. It is a “old-timey” motor inn right across the street from their private, sandy beach - with a fire pit - from Portage Lake. Mattresses, sheets, and towels are new and comfy. Cleanest place I’ve ever stayed! Every surface, every corner, floor to ceiling, was sparkling clean throughout. |Beautiful location - location, location, location! Each room is provided a comfortable place to sit out on the front porch to enjoy the scenery, and your fellow travelers- if you desire. Just can’t say enough good about the good feelings we experienced here. |Convenient to everything you need for a perfect stay; beach, sunset, ice cream, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Papa J’s for ice cream. Yellow Dog cafe for coffee and breakfast. The quaint little town of Onekama is delightful. Lots of parks, beaches, little shops; all the small-town pleasures one craves when seeking a break from day to day busyness.

New owner - extremely accommodating! My wife and I had an awesome 4 night stay with our kids. Beautiful location with so much to do. We had lake access, with access to two different fire places and a propane grill. We'll be back!

Un motel simple et familial comme on l'aime. La chambre est jolie, la vue sur le lac est sublime. En traversant la route, il y a une petite plage privée et un trou à feu pour faire griller ses chamallows devant le coucher du soleil.|Et surtout, le propriétaire est particulièrement sympathique et accueillant. On se sent vraiment les bienvenus.

Wonderful owners. Quaint. Clean. Quiet. The Most comfy beds. Beautiful view of the lake. Private beach with dock, chairs and fire pit to enjoy awesome sunsets. Adorable town...shops and eateries. You won't be disappointed.

Everything you need is available at Portage Lake Motel. Comfortable bed, coffee pot, fridge, cute rooms!! Sit out by the fire pit and meet other guests. Onekama is a hidden gem. Small town fun and wonderful atmosphere!

This motel is a great option when visiting northern Michigan. The owners are super nice and willing to help with anything. The room we were in had 2 comfortable beds with 2 oversized chairs. The bathroom had been updated and was very clean. The hotel I located directly across the street from the lake with a nice little beach, dock and chairs. There are a few nice restaurants in town and the Yellow Dog Cafe is within walking distance and a great place for coffee and breakfast. We would stay here again. Thanks!
