I love a turnpike rest stop with it's mall like atmosphere as opposed to a I-95 stop which is strictly vending machines. The Port St. Lucie/ Fort Pierce service plaza is located at mile marker 144 on Florida's Turnpike. There are both north and south bound exits.
Food choices include Dunkin' Donuts, Wendy's, KFC, Villa Italian Kitchen, Chicken Kitchen, Subway, Auntie Anne's, and my favorite Earl of Sandwich. You can also graze from the vending machines. On this stop I even discovered a Carlo's Hoboken Bake Shop cake vending machine,
If you forgot something you can shop at the Sunshine Market which sells anything a traveler would need including Disney souvenirs. Orlando is ruled by the House of Mouse so pick up all of your brochures for Disney and the Orlando attractions near the Mickey statue. Need help planning your Orlando vacation? There is a kiosk here for that too.
There was a row of massage chairs for weary shoulders and a photo op for kids. The most important part of a rest stop is the bathrooms and they are plentiful and clean. You never have to wait for a stall
This rest stop offers so much. You can be in and out in a flash or linger over a meal to get some respite from the road or help in planning your trip. Fuel your car at a Shell station, use the EV charging station, or just stop by the restroom. It is nice to know that your needs can be quickly met when you are far from home.
I recently had a great experience at the Port St. Lucie-Fort Pierce Service Plaza. The service plaza is well-maintained and offers a clean and comfortable environment. The highlight for me was the clean bathrooms, which were a welcome sight during my journey. The staff was friendly and attentive, making my stop here a pleasant one. I appreciate the effort put into maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and providing a positive experience for travelers. Keep up the good work!
Good variety of restaurants, a great stop on a road trip. The restrooms need some attention though.
This service plaza is a great stop for travelers! It has a wide variety of food options and a gas station, making it super convenient. What really stood out was how clean the restrooms were - it's not something you find everywhere. Definitely a reliable and comfortable place to take a break on your journey.
The Port St. Lucie-Fort Pierce Service Plaza is modern, clean and extremely convenient right off the Turnpike. It offers many fast food options while you gas up or charge your EV.
You can walk the dog, the kids, eat, relax and charge! Be careful hugs come out after sunset! The vibe here is busy. Large indoor food court and huge truck stop! All the yummy foods and some healthy options too!
Super nice plaza. Well organized and clean.
Ate at Earls and used the restrooms. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Took a long time of scanning stalls to find a usable toilet. I swear it was so terrible. The sinks were also dirty and some were even broken/not working.
Earl's was okay. It was a decent wait and the employees were just the average fast food employees. The sitting area and soda fountains were okay. Once we sat down and opened our sandwhichs we realized that it was burnt and over peppered. And personally I thought it was overpriced at that. I have also had better in an actual gas station. That is sad.
