Nice 2 BR, with spacious living area. Oversized jacuzzi in master BR. We liked and used the outside gas grill. Would stay here again. Plus, it's very close to the Shipyard golf course.
Upon arrival we discovered no numbered parking a flight of stairs where the elevators were-not on the ground level. There were luggage carts near the elevators, but again, you still had to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs because there was no ramp or access to the elevator from the parking area. Our room smelled so musty that we had to buy a strong candle and burn it 24/7 during our stay. Within minutes of blowing it out, the smell would immediately return. It stated that our room sleeps 8, but we only had enough utencils for 6. The kitchen was so tiny it actually could only fit one person. Too small to really cook in with another person and we did eat dinner in several times. We also didn't have a large skillet to cook with. The floors were stained, the decorative pillow on the king bed was stained, the lampshades were stained, the couch had stains on it, and even the curtains were stained. The glasstop table was so scratched it was not easy to see through one end. The vent at the door was covered in dust which might have contributed to the smell, but I think the carpets just need to be replaced. There was no outside area to have our guests eat over, the recreation activity room was so small we had to eat our ice cream for the ice cream social at the pool. That all said, the pools were nice, the bedrooms were large, the beds were decent, and the proximity to beach and shopping was all good. Overall, however, this was worst property we stayed at in HH and we go every year.
My family and I have been coming here for 30 years. We’ve never had any problems, until this year. When we checked in, our pull out bed sheets had been stuffed into a drawer, obviously unwashed. There were markers and a couple toys behind a night stand and under the couch. There was a large clump of sand in the bathroom and it was so surprising, compared to our other years of great service.
I accidentally left behind a precious childhood stuffed animal, that I had just gave to my daughter. I called housekeeping as soon as I realized (2 hours after check out). Housekeeping didn’t turn anything in and I asked if they could check behind the bed or in the sheets they collected from the bed. They assured me they would. I didn’t receive a call back, I had to call and would receive the same response that they would go and check. I called back today, hoping they would retrieve it during check out. Still didn’t find it. We have left stuff in the condo in the past and it was promptly returned to us. I’m very disappointed to think that a staff member would throw away or keep someone else’s precious childhood comfort item. I’m beating myself up for leaving it behind but I had faith in Port O Call. Such a disappointing experience.
I wrote this to advise anyone else, please don’t leave anything precious to you behind. They will not return it.
We have stayed in Shipyard several times over the years. Recently we stayed the third week in May. This was our third time. Although I don't remember many specifics about the previous accommodations, I don't recall there being any issues. Unit 906 was immaculate. Very clean, all items in order, and items provided with the unit were more than adequate to accommodate any of our cooking needs. This is not always the case at other resorts, but this one hit it right on. It's a little over a mile to Coligny Plaza down a nice but narrow bike/walk path. The beach is actually more pleasant to walk on. The pools are a pleasant refresher to a busy day on the beach. The pools and facilities are as good or better than most other resorts of this type on the island or any other similar resorts for that matter. Landscaping and natural plants are utilized well. The only recommendation I have is the outside stairwells need more lighting or maybe a lighting upgrade. This is a great place to stay and the front office check in staff are friendly.
Older unit, needs updating. Maintenance lacking , including washing machine and dishwasher. Didnt have working land line for 2 weeks....First disappointing visit to HH in over 20 years.
We love the shipyard location!
It's so quiet!!!
The 1 bedroom apartment is roomy and nice but it wasn't cleaned to good.
The counters in the kitchen wasn't wiped down to well and the jacuzzi tub was not clean either, took me a while to remove the soap scum.
But we still enjoyed ourselves.
The room looks like freshly painted and carpet looked clean, that was a plus.
I've been going to Port O Call for over 35 years and the first time I've been disappointed. The internet was terrible, cable tv is terrible, the pool could have been cleaned better. I will say the maintenance people were great. On top of my yearly dues, I was charged $56 for amenities and I can't say what those were. The group that now runs Port O Call could do a better job for owners
My family goes on vacation here and we always love it. The shops around are great, bike paths are plentiful, and beach access is about 10 minutes away.
My only negative is that the WiFi could be better - we weren't sure whether it was satellite or if the routers weren't doing their job, but when it stormed, it took the WiFi along with it. There are a ton of other things nearby Port'O Call to do so I didn't notice it as much.
Other than that, I would highly recommend Port'O Call, or anywhere in Hilton Head, for a vacation getaway.

Beautiful place to stay! The rooms were perfect and the views from the balcony were amazing! Super clean and very comfortable and welcoming! Great proximity to the beach, shops and restaurants. Highly recommended!
The area is just a short walk to the beach and Coligny shops. Very convenient spot in Hilton Head. Just a short drive to Seapines Resort or Walmart. The area is relatively quiet. There is a swing over the pond to watch turtles and gators. The pool wa
Loved it! Erin made the check in process easy. Ed was a great coach! He worked on my form. Great class! Thank you all. Loved meeting everyone! Next time, I am in HH. I will be stopping in.

I schedule a complimentary meeting to review my swing. The guy I worked with is a real pro. Quickly he identified things that were off with my set up that were stopping me from having a good golf swing. These were things I was never told in lessons w
