Had a delightful stay at the porch house. Picture a cute little farm house feel--a la Norman Rockwell--but with a modern kitchen, great wifi, and tons of TV channels. Three spacious bedrooms and three nicely appointed, full bathrooms; nestled amongst trees on a quiet street but only a five minute walk to the center of the village; kind and accommodating hosts. Highly recommend. (btw, it's no longer a B&B.)

My wife and I rode our tandem to Granville to spend the night at the Porch House for our 5th Anniversary. We were pleasantly greeted by Bruce and Lisa as we pulled up to the house, which is conveniently located right on the bike path. They informed us they'd never had anyone show up on a tandem before and were more than accommodating letting us keep the tandem in their garage. The guest house room was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable and breakfast in the morning was delicious. We happened to be the only guests that weekend, which sounded as though it was rare, and chatting with Bruce while he prepared the meal and he and Lisa sat down to eat with us was extra special. They made us feel genuinely welcome.

My husband and I have stayed at the Porch House at least six times over the last few years while visiting our daughter at Denison University. I give our experience an A+. The Porch house has a comfortable style that invites you to relax, read a good book, enjoy conversation, or take a walk up the hill to the campus. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Breakfast is a great way to start the day at the Porch House. The breakfast is hearty, delicious, and always presented attractively. And the coffee is good, which is very important to me. I always enjoy conversation with Bruce and Lisa and other guests at breakfast. Visiting the Porch House is a part of our “Denison Experience” and we look forward to each visit.

We have stayed at the Porch House numerous times during our daughter's time at Denison. The rooms are lovely and quiet, the queen mattresses are comfortable, the location is perfect (walking distance to everything), and the breakfast is absolutely fantastic. Most importantly, Bruce & Lisa are lovely people that go out of their way to make you feel at home and accommodate any requests. There is a long list of things that Bruce has helped me with over the years, that it seems like you are saying goodbye to family when you leave. There are a few times I have stayed at the Inn in town (when the Porch House was booked) but there is no comparison in comfort, quiet and food. On our most recent stay for graduation, our extended family took over the entire second house, used the kitchen and hung out in the living and dining rooms. I will have to find an excuse to visit Granville and the Porch House again. Thank you Bruce and Lisa!

Porch House is actually two houses, offering five rooms. The properties have the character that comes from age, and have been renovated to provide the necessary amenities, but haven't been overdone the way a lot of B&Bs have. Bruce and Lisa offer homey accommodations, a very nice breakfast, and exactly the amount of interaction that their guests desire. And their location puts all the quaint pleasures of Granville within walking distance. All this at a very competitive price.

My wife and I stayed at the Porch House several years ago for a perfect getaway overnight. We are not big on the social aspect of B&B's, and that wasn't a problem as the house served as our home base for our busy schedule. We didn't want to miss out on the delicious breakfast, though, and it was fun to meet the other guests (briefly) before heading out. Location is perfect for bike treks (right on the bike trail access) or walking to dinner in town. Less than 2 blocks from most things, a little more for Denison events. Highly recommended.

My husband and I came to Granville to look at houses and stayed over night with our 3 year old son mid July. Our room had lovely antique decor and had a very comfortable mattress. I could not hear anyone else during the night although it was at full capacity, which is rare in an old house. The breakfast was amazing too, but the best part was talking to Bruce and Lisa on the large green wrap around porch. Perfect Summer visit.

After a recent stay at the Porch House B&B I feel it's important to write about the misrepsentation of the name. I have stayed a numerous B&B's which stands for bed and breakfast except this one doesn't offer a breakfast. I have never come across this before in my travels. There is nothing posted on their website and after talking to the owner to book the room nothing was mentioned then either. The house is very nice and the rooms are large and comfortable. Perhaps the B&B should be removed from the name and advertise as a room for rent so others will not be disappointed.

The bio reserve is my go to for trail running. If you want low elevation change the south side trails are best. The north side trails provide more elevation change. The nature is always abundant. Pileated woodpecker in the picture. Deer and squirrels

Great cidery. If you like traditional English cider and not the overly sweetened cider that dominates most of the U.S. market, this is the place to go. The Farmhouse cider was amazing.
