Poplar Haus Restaurant, Bar & Cabins - Bar & grill in Grand Marais - 7890 Gunflint Trail, USA

We stop here for dinner everytime we go to the Gunflint Trail, we love it! The menu is unique, made from scratch, thoughtful and DELICIOUS! I had the best soup of my life here a few days ago. Everyone is super down to earth and welcoming. It has amazing views and is beautifully designed. Highly recommend stopping here for dinner. You can't beat it, summer or winter, it's the best place on the trail!

We are blown away by the new Fox Haus. This "cabin" looks like a luxury home in a beautiful setting adjacent to the Boundary Waters. Gourmet kitchen, 3 huge bedrooms, 2 spacious bathrooms with heated and lighted mirrors and showers, in- floor heat, large living spaces to hang out with family and friends. All on beautiful Poplar Lake. This is a Wow!!!

Stopped by for lunch after a day of hiking and absolutely loved this place. The food was amazing, the views were breathtaking, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The bartender even brought our Golden Retriever his own side dish of cheese curds to snack on. 😂 Thanks for the amazing hospitality, you have a really unique and special spot. We can’t wait to come back and will definitely be booking a cabin for the weekend next fall!

We had such an amazing time! Bryan and Stacey are gracious hosts and very accommodating to their guests. The cabin (Northern Gnome) was everything we had hoped for and then some. If you are looking for a peaceful and secluded getaway to enjoy some quiet time and explore nature, this is most certainly the place to go. The on-site liquor store came in very handy, and we thought the restaurant (and staff) were top notch! The food and cocktails were spot on, and the service was excellent! We definitely plan to come back and visit again. Highly recommended A+

Only came for the restaurant. They were very busy but squeezed us in. Delicious food. The burger and walleye chowder were both great. The cheese curds are good but I didn't like them with the BBQ sauce they come with. Thankfully our server was AWESOME and got us some marinara which was SO much better. Fantastic views from the back deck. Great place to eat at when you're way up the Gunflint Trail.

Poplar Haus is a hidden gem! Nice view of the lake and cozy comfort. The restaurant serves up exceptional dishes, and the staff is top-notch—friendly and attentive. A perfect place to eat after a hike!

What an amazing location! The owners are fantastic! WE made a booking mistake, and they went above and beyond to help us fix it. They have the best restaurant and liquor store on the trail, and the waitstaff is top notch. We wanted a nice, close to the lake location and they have an amazing setup. In addition we were really looking forward to possibly hearing loons, and the property is situated in an area where we could hear them throughout the day, and we even saw multiple families of loons swin within 15 feet of the dock. We had the best northern vacation here and will be back as soon as we can. Honestly the nicest people and owners you could possibly imagine.

Amazing views, great food, and friendly staff. My friends and I have been going to the Poplar Haus every year during our yearly Grand Marais camping trip. It has never disappointed. The restaurant has great views of the lake and is very clean/spacious. All of the food that we have gotten there has been great.
