Beautiful place for a stroll or to spend an afternoon with the kids. Very peaceful early morning. Will be back. Clean bathrooms too.
Went on a 3 mile run here today. The Neuse River Trail is great for jogging, running, biking and is even good for children.
We accessed the Neuse Trail from Poole Road Park. There wasn't much to see along the walking trail, but river side provided a much more interesting adventure. The water level I'm told was lower then some weeks back. And the lower water exposed big rocks that one could walk along. It was great for pictures. Also nice for sitting on the rocks and relaxing amongst the soothing sound of the rushing water. A perfect spot for the kids to play for a few hours.
Make sure you look at the map before you walk the trail. There's no benches. Not too much trash unless you get on the rocks by the river. Watch for snakes. Seen 2, one on the rocks and one dead on the trail. Good for Longboarding
It’s a nice little place to walk, jog, bike or fish that’s convenient to my home. There is a ton of wildlife and it is just a real pretty place to go and explore. You just have to be careful of the people on bicycles because they fly through there and I’ve even seen people on dirt bikes and four wheeler so just watch out and I’ve seen people get hurt from the bicyclists flying through there and hitting people. A girl actually got a bloody nose last year while she was walking and this guy just flew through there on his bike and almost hit me as well even though I was on the other side, he was just flying so fast he couldn’t slow down in time and hit her but thankfully she was OK mostly.
Very peaceful and serene. Glad to see the steps and kayak/canoe ramp installed here.
Beautiful trails right next to river. A few down falls, one: there is not a lot of parking. And it gets full fast. Second: The sign at the start of trail is very worn and old and can’t read it. Third: the entrance is located off a busy road on a hill it’s hard to get out. But if you can find a spot to park and not worried about how long it could take you to get out, you’ll surely have a good time.
