Ponderosa Beer and Books - Bar in Bellingham - 1225 Roeder Ave Suite 101, USA

After visiting nearby Marine Life Center with my six-year-old daughter, we found a warm place to hang out in Ponderosa. Here’s our experience. 1) Food: They have a food menu with happy hour deals. Stopping in on a late afternoon, we ordered the chips and salsa and the cheese platter for snacks. My daughter loved them both. I was a fan of the cheese with the cherry jam. 2) Drinks: I was happy to see cider on their beer list. I ordered an Oregon cider that wasn’t too sweet. 3) Service: It was impeccable. It feels like a family and every customer is treated with kindness. Even dogs are welcome! 4) Space: It’s a beautiful space with a parking lot and loft seating. Outlets were near the tables so I could charge my phone as I ate.

This review is long overdue. Ponderosa is one of our favorite spots to grab a delicious beer or cider in a welcoming and pup friendly environment. The atmosphere is inviting and warm with indoor and outdoor seating options. The service, recommendations and conversation are excellent! Jessie always has such a fun and reliable tap list as well as a fridge full of amazing drink options to take home. The events have been nothing short of delightful. I have enjoyed the makers markets and pop ups Our current favorite was the beer and cider pairing with Saltadena cream puffs. *chefs kiss* We recently had the opportunity to work with Jessie on hosting a private event during our wedding weekend. She made the process stress free and enjoyable. I highly recommend it to anyone considering! It was the perfect end of wedding weekend vibe and experience for us and our guests.

Caught my eye so I stopped in. Being gluten free beer is not my thing. They have cider and a couple wine choices. Fun atmosphere. Unique and charming. Didn’t try the food. If I wasn’t gluten free I’d definitely spend some time there!

Great location. Great tap list with to-go options. Cozy atmosphere for hanging out on the patio or upstairs with views of the islands to downtown Bellingham. Come for the delicious beer, wine, cider + selection of books and stay for the friendly and welcoming people! Got the flight with a lovely souvenir — a bookmark! To top it all off, it’s dog friendly!! A great place to sit and relax with the not-so-young pup :)

Beautiful and sunny taproom with the best beer selection I've ever seen. The people are super nice and really good at figuring out what your next favorite beer is going to be. Plus there are books! Indoor and outdoor seating and a really chill 21+ mezzanine. Already dreaming about going back.

My favorite spot in town to meet up with friends and chill! The atmosphere is so inviting, I really appreciate the big windows and open space. Awesome selection of beverages including fun ciders, wine, and non-alcoholic options. The owner and the staff are all delightful people and they have the sweetest and BEST BAR DOG!

Great little spot right by the water! Awesome curated beer selection and some really interesting books revolving around beer, botany, and food. Definitely swing by. Plus, they're dog friendly!

Totally a hidden gem, never heard of it until today. I was surprised by how good the drinks were. Location is industrial (a plus for me, nice area) with a great view of the ocean and mountains. Inside plays into this aesthetic, great atmosphere. Good music and decorations, along with local art. This is the only bar I've felt fully comfortable getting stuff done on my laptop. Absolutely recommend!
