Polly's Pies Restaurant & Bakery - American restaurant in Huntington Beach - 9791 Adams Ave, USA

We bought pies here a couple of times and they were pretty good. We enjoyed our visits to this spot, and would recommend visiting it. The personnel is also nice and attentive.

Was running an errand before heading home and spotted this Polly's - so I stopped to pick up a pie. The front staff didn't seem to have their act together. Seemed that there was a hostess, server and maybe manager and nobody seemed to know what their role was. The hostess took an order from the lady ahead of me, the manager went in the back to get the pie - at least that's what it seemed like, but then the hostess asked the manager about it, and she wasn't actually getting the pie, so the hostess had to go get it. Then I was next in line, but a lady walked in to dine-in, but nobody knew who was going to seat her. Things were very discombobulated! Then after the guest was seated, the hostess took my order. As she was getting my pie - I noticed there was a little tiff going on between the manager and the server. The server went over to the manager and asked her what the matter was, and she told him she 'was p!$$ed off at him' and he was trying to find out why. It was a very strange interaction between the two of them - definitely a lot of tension. One star for the hostess who was taking care of the customers, and another star for the pie that was very delish! I don't go to this Polly's too often, and I might just keep it that way

With the restaurant closed for renovation, we look forward to the remodel and patio dining. The Popup a few doors away was a pleasant idea and had to get an appie pie, all natural small batch made and box of blueberry muffins. Surprisingly, I should have read the label closer, the blueberry muffins have artificial flavors. My error and wife pushed them away. More for me.

What I seen at Polly's is enough for me not to go back. The old lady in the Blue shirt was attempting to instruct her workers how to clean the patio. When she didn't have a cleaning rag herself.then to watch the workers use the same rag on the chairs as well as the window seals. With The Red sanitizer bucket. To rinse the rag. Then another worker was spraying window cleaning solution, on the window while another customer was eating right next to her. They need to focus on ALL THE DUST ON THE INSIDE OF THE STORE. AND yes your nice patio black and white seating area will get dirty. And it's fabric to Boot.

How have I forgotten about Polly’s for so many years?? We used to come to this location when I was in kindergarten, and I swear it hasn’t changed AT ALL since then. However, that’s a really great thing in this case. Their food is fantastic - big portion sizes, decent pricing, and amazing taste and variety. Service is so good and we’ve really connected with some of the staff there. Don’t sleep on this gem from your past just because it’s under appreciated!

The for 2 starshe only reason on atmosphere. There are some new friendly faces, but there was a new female manager there today that was telling one of the servers, whay was she putting so much champagne into the bottomless mimosas. Then it looked like she was having a talk with another manager, in view of the customers. If she would have helped out the servers instead and got drink orders taken for them, then i think things would have been a lot smoother.

I did a job fair/interview kinda thing here and came a couple minutes early for my designated interview time at about 1:30. I waited just shy of 30 minutes and then got interviewed. The questions I was asked was vague/bare bones and only got my name and contact info written down by the interviewer. This interview also took place outside in their patio area where they were still under construction and it was very distracting to do the interview outside while construction was going on. Would not recommend interviewing here as my time was wasted waiting 30min to be interviewed.
