The beach was roughed up due to the snow melting and the high winds we had. Point Betsie never fails to delight the senses.
When driving there it looks like you're going to a dead end residential road. It's on the right and beautiful! Too bad it's closed for the season.
My 2nd favorite lighthouse in Michigan. Grand Haven is my #1! Beach was covered in beautiful flat white rocks polished by lake Michigan. I love to rock hunt and at this location you can find lots of fossils including Petoskey stones 😀 The visitor center was closed when I was visiting. The lighthouse is stunning in person! I would reccomend anyone on a lighthouse or rock hunting adventure!
This is a beautiful place just north of Frankfort on M-22. To access the lighthouse and attached museum there is a small charge (this goes for upkeep) well worth it. You can go up in the tower as well. The grounds are very nice and the sunset here is breathtaking. The access to the lighthouse is only during the warmer months you can visit the beach right next to it whenever. If you are going for sunset in the summer get there early and bring some drinks!
Parking is roadside, but it’s a quick walk. There is no bathroom, as the actual lighthouse was closed. The beach was absolutely beautiful, and the scenery around the lighthouse was stunning. Walking down the path, you can just tell it’s worth a trip.
My wife and I came here for a date recently and got to watch one of the most memorable sunsets, so calm, all the people that were there to do the same were very curious of others and quiet, a nice couple even offered to let us use the fire they started when they left so it was one of the most relaxing nights I’ve ever had, it’s also beautiful to see at any time of day, even at night with all of the stars. definitely recommend coming here, hope you have as peaceful experience as we did
Even with the lighthouse closed, this was still a neat stop. The beach was very sandy (even covering several benches and the fence around the lighthouse), but the water was gorgeous! With all the sand, the beach itself may be hard to get to in a wheelchair and when the lighthouse is closed there weren't any other restroom options around.
I'd give it five stars if there was better parking - but other than that, it is a cool beach with a Lighthouse. The Lighthouse looks to be private, but you can walk in front of it. Beautiful place to watch a sunset.

I brought my dog here to see the sunset and loved it! Small parking area, but there were only a few people, so I didn't have a problem getting a spot. You can walk the beach a long way. Will definitely come again!
This place was great. Small, quaint, with delicious food and wonderful relaxing atmosphere. We drove nearly an hour to try it out. We had steak and scallop. They were prepared to perfection and topped it off with Carrot Cake. The drink menu was good
As someone with an egg allergy, I love it when I stumble upon a place that takes it seriously. Delicious food and coffee! Oat, soy and coconut milk options too! Great service from the very friendly staff - weâll definitely be back when we come to
