Pluckers Wing Bar - Chicken wings restaurant in San Marcos - 105 Purple Heart Trl I-35, USA

My kid tells me he is craving Pluckers for dinner. No problem, I get on their app, place the order. It tells me 35 minutes. I figure it is going to take me at least that long to get there with the 5 o'clock Friday evening traffic. I decide I should get some gas, as the food is never on time. I pull into the back of the restaurant. You have to go to the front of the place to go in. I would strongly advise them to have a separate location for To Go orders, as when you walk in it is a zoo. I go tell the, I am here for my order. The guy disappears and tells me, "It is being made now and they need 10 more minutes." I figure, no problem. I know it is a Friday night and they are busy. I walk over the gas station to get drinks to kill some time. I put the drinks in the car and walk back to the front of the store. After being ignored for a little bit, I ask about my food. "Hey, I am here for a to go order and they told me 10 minutes more and here it is almost 30 minutes after the fact." The woman disappears for a few minutes and comes back a few minutes later with my order in hand. I snake my way through the building and go out the back door, where I had parked. The estimate wait time for your order, is a lie. It was more than a hour after the fact. We get home and the fried pickles were good. The kids chicken bites were small pieces of cut up chicken, fried and tossed in whatever sauce you ask them to. The bites were almost an insult as they were probably the size of a fingernail. The wing meal was good and flavorful. I would strongly advise them to get a whole different system for to go orders and have dedicated employees just working that. The lobby was a zoo. There needs to be a better handling of customer traffic. I am not sure what is up with the ordering system; but, it is going to be 3 times of the length of whatever the computer tells you when you food Is going to be ready. The only saving grace was the food. While it was "ok", I expected a tad bit better quality, especially if I am going to be spending $50+ on an adult meal, an appetizer and a kids meal without drinks.

I'm frustrated with tonight's experience. I placed an online order, checked in with the host and was told it would just be a little longer so I sat and waited in the lobby. I was in clear view, made eye contact with the host that checked me in multiple times and after 20 minutes, I finally asked for an update and turns out it was the meal they brought up 15 min ago and just stuck in the warmer. I never got a text, alert, or even my name called out. The host told me i was supposed to have been sent an alert and that never happened. So, now I get to go enjoy my stale meal that cost $30. I'll drive to South Lamar next time. Updated to add photos of poor breading and a pool of oil in the box.

Took 1.5 hours to get food. Everything was cold. Drinks were the best part of the meals and it was the tea. Tater tots were slop.

This was my first ever time at a Pluckers and it was amazing. Staff was so friendly, tons of sports playing on TV and the wings were amazing of course. I travel the country for work often and I would 100% come back here for the wings and fried pickles!

I love pluckers. At least in Austin. This place is slacking. Order extra wet they just put a pile of sauce on top of like 1 or 2 wings. Don’t expect to get your salad before your food. They haven’t gotten that right ever. Crispy wings aren’t crispy. If you’re in San Marcos just go to Wing Stop. It’s better here. I’m a pluckers member. This place sucks.

Great service and great food. My daughter and I made our yearly visit to Pluckers for our birthdays and were not disappointed. We went for lunch this year and were seated promptly. Our order was taken quickly and our food arrived fast. Overall a good experience today.

Best wings around! I don't know where they get their wings, but they're consistently twice the size of other wing restaurants. Meaty and never over-cooked. Great selection of sauce flavors! Servers are attentive and super-friendly. Fun atmosphere, but noisy. Kind of pricey, but you get what you pay for.
