Always beautiful in the fall! Well maintained local "mini-park". Trail is short but gives a decent cardio workout as it goes slightly up hill. Ample parking, great for kids to see so much nature
I find myself stuck in a hotel in West Mifflin, PA, just outside Pittsburgh waiting for a vehicle repair. I was looking to spend some time outside on a gorgeous summer day close to the hotel. I found this park on Google maps and decided to give it a try. Google got me pretty close, but was a block off. It is in the middle of a neighborhood, so I luckily saw a sign pointing to the Aboretum.
What a beautiful place. It's not huge, but there is a nice hiking path, some educational signage, a few story telling boards for kids, and lots of wild flowers. The trees around the small meadow provide plenty of shade. Above all, this is a very peaceful place.
Walking along the path under the trees I encountered three deer and a lot of squirrels. The signs said there were opossum in the area, but I did not see any. I also found what looked like a lecture area with wooden benches and a lecturn in the middle of the woods.
Over all this was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely come here often if I lived in the area.
Small area gazebo and walking trails including a nice story trail when you are able to read a children's book as you make your way along.
The Pleasant Hills Arboretum is one of our favorite places to take hikes. We and our dog frequently visit and walk the interesting trails that wind through the forest and the meadows. The people that work at the arboretum do a great job, and are friendly to visitors. We are fortunate to have such a nice asset in our community.
A decent little park for a quick hike. Really good for youngsters. Trees are marked which is nice. Deer can be seen if you are lucky and stealthy.
This place will always be dear to my heart. It's a wonderful place in the middle of Pleasant Hills when you can take in nature. Sit on a bench and just listen to the birds. ❤️ You can have trees planted in memory of a loved one. Or put in a bench as a memorial to someone. Love it here❤️ if your lucky enough you will run into Paul who can take you on a hike through the Arboretum. He's loaded with information on trees and other things.
The Pleasant Hills Arboretum is a place away from the hubbub and concrete of the suburban surroundings!
This a truly lovely place, lots of habitat for wildlife to exist when humans have taken over so much the wild. It was very disappointing to see the sign about hunting now being allowed. Not only am I opposed to the slow, cruel death of deer dying slowly and painfully by arrow, being blamed for the causes of human urbanization, I also shouldn't have to worry about being shot myself in the middle of a small suburban park area due to a hunter's negligence and inability to tell deer from human. It's a shame because I love coming here. I hope the folks in charge will reconsider the blight this choice is having on the place. We shouldn't have to go buy orange vests just to take a walk.
Fun little place, right next to the soccer field. I like going on to the wooden playground even as an older person, the fellas and I always have a fun time here. I can recall this one time I was there; I was with two friends messing around on the pla

This had got to be the BEST buffet in Pittsburgh. I loved everything I tried and there are so many choices, I couldn't try everything.
The sushi is top notch and the Mongolian grill has only the freshest food. The place is spotless, and the restroom
