Plaza Inn - Motel in Big Spring - 700 W Interstate 20, USA

The Wi-Fi was spotty, two of the 4 lamps were out and were not attended to - even though it was brought to the front desk's attention, the door looked like it didn't shut all the way, the insulation rubber on the door was flapping in the wind, you couldn't get to the outlets by the bed because the bed frame was blocking them, the microwave dish didn't fit - so it made a heck of a lot of noise! Unbelievably inconvenient. On a good note...Yes...the front desk lady was very courteous.

The lady at the front desk was very pleasant, it was a Sunday evening when we checked in so there was available parking right in front of our room. The room needed to be updated and I guess when the cleaning ladies go in to clean they leave the door propped open because there were a bunch of flies. Other than that the air conditioner worked great so that was a plus. Also the pool was out of order so that also was a bummer. But other than that it was a fair place to stay. I’m give a 3/5 stars

We’ve stayed here 3 times now, each time was great. The motel looks old from the outside but the rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The breakfast room is very nice and they recently added a waffle machine. The outdoor pool is nice, although closed for winter now. The staff is always very friendly. They do accept pets at a reasonable fee. I recommend this place for a great nights rest.

We needed an affordable place to stay and The Plaza fit the bill! The young lady at the desk was very nice. Our room was a king. We experienced a little road noise but not too bothersome. It was located at the back of the property. The room on its face appeared clean but a little dust, dirt and cobwebs could be found if you looked. The heater worked very well. The tv worked well. The bed was comfy with great memory foam pillows that we loved. There was a camper trailer sized fridge and freezer which was nice. The water pressure in shower and sink was not much. There was a distinct lack of working electrical plugs. The one at the sink that would have run the coffee maker, hair dryer or any other item you might have brought did not work at all. The smoke alarm also was not working. Don’t even look at the shower curtain!!! Yuck! The breakfast room was OKAY clean. They had waffles and syrup but the butter spread was rancid. They had milk and juices which were OK but the coffee was not that great. They had cereal and oatmeal choices. This place is great for a quick overnight but not much else.

I don’t know why a lot of people leave low ratings for this motel. I stayed 1 night and it was really good. TV, refrigerator, microwave, AC, clean bathroom with soap and shampoo. Lots of towels. Great breakfast. I would highly recommend this place.

We spent the night of 4 June 2021. Front desk staff was excellent and very helpful. I asked if we could see the room because of some of the reviews, and they were happy to oblige. By the way, the room was very clean. The room, in addition to being clean, was also large enough to accommodate out three medium dogs and one small one. Very friendly, very quiet, and thoroughly enjoyable.

I guess the first red flag was the “No Refund” sign as we walked in to register. The first woman was very friendly and I truly enjoyed talking to her. We get to our room and the door doesn’t close. They came and said it was the weather to just lift and close. Well that did not make me feel safe leaving my stuff in this room to attend my dad’s funeral. The room phone did not work. We had to go to the office for every complaint. The WiFi did not work and once again we headed to the office and this time it was a different woman, she also told us it’s the weather and to just keep trying and turn our phones off and on. When we told her we tried that, her response was, “ sorry for your luck”! The chair in the room looked like it was picked up from a dumpster. The room was semi-clean. I really wanted to make it work but we left there within the hour and rented another room in Big Spring. When we told them we were leaving, once again the ladies response was, “take it up with your creditor” and hung up on us when we called them from our phone since the room phone did not work! Very dissatisfied and disappointed! Stay at your own risk.
