First time visiting. Atmosphere was fine. Staff was nice and friendly, prices were a bit high for me but I wanted the food so bad I made an exception. I had the catfish dinner with Mac yams and dressing. The only thing I enjoyed was the fish. It was fire! The cornbread was dry, the Mac was flavorless, the dressing was a bit salty and the yams were too sweet for my liking. Also I had Maybe five yams and underneath was basically mashed sweet potatoes. I am a child of a woman from the South so I know good food. Looks great but taste not so good. I most likely won't visit again.

We drove all the way from Madison but before we drove we called to see if they were open and they were VERY VERY NICE and gave us the whole run down of the menu. When we got there they were patient and gave us a run down of the menu again, gave us suggestions. We ordered 5 meals for our family and waited till we got back home to eat, food was STILL hot and fresh. YALL ONE PLATE CAN FEED 2 PEOPLE…I am not joking. They food was so good and they customer service matched how good the food was. 10/10 we will be back

Food was delicious and a generous helping enough to share. This is excellent soul food and cooked like many traditions in black families. If you want to try some delicious soul food here is your chance to experience some yumminess, deliciousness and fulfilling. Great staff, fish made fresh with order it was a tad bit salty but ok.

The male cashier greeted us as soon as we entered. After scanning the menu, we decided to try the turkey leg dinner. It was a bit pricey at $27.19 after tax. The dinner consisted of two sides; We chose yams and macaroni & cheese. He asked If we wanted bbq sauce on the side, but didn't state it cost extra. If anyone else is asked, it's an additional seventy-five cents, just so you know. You'll have to provide your phone number and they'll call you when your order is ready. A lady called and advised us to bring in the ticket, when it was done. Her tone wasn't really friendly, but that was my only interaction with her. As for the taste, the yams were really good. Not too sweet and cooked just right. By the time we arrived at our destination the macaroni & cheese was a cheesy block. I can't fairly say if I liked it or not, as I didn't try It hot and didn't have a microwave available to reheat it. The turkey leg was so tender, it was literally falling off of the bone. It didn't really need bbq sauce, but since it was there we used it. Honestly, it would've tasted better with rice and gravy, that was also on the menu, as a side. Overall, if you're craving some warm comfort food, it's worth a try.

This was my third time coming to this place and I love their food. I plan on trying everything on the menu. The smothered pork chops with greens are my favorite. The cashier was very nice and polite.

Hands down the best soul food and customer service ever! I love catfish, but I don’t order it often because the breading isn’t good and the fish isn’t fresh. However, this place has the best catfish I’ve ever had! Breading is on point and the fish is as fresh as it gets! Everything they make is so darn good and the presentation is gorgeous! Looks like it came out of a magazine every time we order! They truly treat you like family here too, the nicest people! Just ordered a sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving with the family… and OH EM GEE!!! So so good! There is nothing they don’t know how to do! My husband and I are frequent flyers and customers for life!

Let me start by saying, I take pride in supporting small businesses and more pride in supporting minority businesses in every community. Today I wondered into this place by visiting a business next door and decided to try the Gumbo…. Worst decision EVER. The shrimp were extremely over cooked it was all sausage the chicken was tough, the sauce was watery and salty. When I tell you I threw the entire 17$ in the trash. People don’t realize thE POWER OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND WORD OF MOUTH. I’m severely disappointed in the gumbo. THE GUMBO WAS NOT FRESH, DAYS OLD IN FACT. It tasted stale. The owner brought it out to the door didn’t even value me as a customer enough to bring it to the sidewalk style table she had set up and hand it to me I had to get up and go to the door. Considering I partner with google to do reviews this is a heartbreaking review. It’s a NO for me absolutely NOT. In fact I would like a REFUND.

They hooked us up pre-Christmas this year! When we want a home cooked southern style meal, we come here. And we come here often. At least every 3 weeks. And they never disappoint, no matter what we order. They plate it to go, nice and neat and the fried foods stay crispy! And I tell everybody at work if they want a good Ole country meal come here.
