We loved the charm and location of Planter’s Inn. The staff was courteous and polite when we had interactions with them. Easy walking distance to anything in the historic district. The warm cookies were a nice touch in the evenings. A deep clean of the room and updated carpet would go a long way to looking at booking this location again. The back of the headboard(seen while looking for an additional outlet) and under the bed was pretty dirty and the first night the carpet seemed a bit dirty. After the initial cleaning the floor was much better, same as the bathroom floor. First night it was slick but after the initial cleaning it was good. Simple paint updates would be good as well. It really is a nice Inn but could use a little TLC and updating would go a long way. Really good value and a great location.

Beautiful room and really comfortable bed! This hotel is so nicely positioned on Reynolds Square. It’s close to everything. They have a lovely cheese and wine hour and we were able to chat with other travelers and plan a great itinerary. ||We were on the 4th floor and it was lovely. It felt historic while being clean and updated. We also appreciated the air conditioning and the high water pressure. The shower was great!

We checked in on 6/15 for a three night stay. We were a bit early so the room wasn’t ready but we were able to check our bags and valet the car. This was our first time staying at the Planters Inn but our 4th visit to Savannah so we know our way around, on foot, pretty well. After walking around town and dinner at Paula Deen’s restaurant, our room was ready. It was a beautiful room, with simple vintage like furnishings. The room was average size, had a coffee maker and a TV that we never even turned on. Coffee is always available in the lobby as well. We were in room 610. From what I could tell most rooms have a view only of the parking garage but I don’t stay in Savannah to look out the window so the view was insignificant. I do recommend bringing a white noise machine as the noise outside can become very loud later in the night. Monday through Thursday evenings, in the lobby, is a piano player and complimentary wine and cheese and crackers. It was a very nice touch and we enjoyed that after a long day of exploring Savannah and before heading out to dinner. The location of this hotel can’t be beat, it is in the heart of the historic district and is a 5-10 minute walk to almost anywhere. The room rate is very reasonable for Savannah, you won’t be disappointed!

Superb location near the river and many restaurants on Bronough. Excellent staff and service. The room was clean, but had an old room odor, the curtains were very outdated, and the commode flush was the loudest I've ever heard. If I had ear muffs it would have really helped. Hard to go back to sleep in the middle of the night when you hear that sound. We parked at Bryan St City garage nearby and saved about 50 bucks. We enjoy the hotel's wine and cheese from 4:00 to 6:00 every evening. No continental breakfast at this time. We paid extra for the view of the square. It was worth it.

This was a wonderful older hotel with lots of charm in a great location in Savannah. We spent 4 nights and were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and do in Savannah. We had a room that looked out on the square which I would recommend and had no problems at all with vehicle noises that were mentioned in other reviews. We had a very comfortable queen size bed which had many fluffy pillows. The service was the way it should be in the people were very friendly and helpful when I needed help or had a concern but they were not intrusive every time I walked through the lobby. I would highly recommend Planters Inn and would stay there again when in Savannah.

I usually don't leave poor reviews, but all of these glowing reviews were very misleading when I decided to book our stay here. Positives: Location Friendly staff Valet Negatives: -Dirty room. Dusty, worn. Odd smell. Long black hair found during first use of provided towel. My husband said it looked like dried boogers on the side of the toilet. I was too grossed out to look. -Broken bed frame, bed was sunken in the middle and made it impossible to get a decent night of sleep. -No housekeeping unless requested. Crazy. We were given 2 towels for a 3 day stay. -Lots of outside noise. I'm not necessarily lowering my rating because of this (obviously - it's downtown and right beside a parking garage) but it is worth noting for others. Again, I really don't like to leave a bad review, but I should've paid more attention to the negative reviews - even if they're from 6+ months ago.

Everything about our stay was great. The room was big (though the bathroom needed a little TLC), the staff was amazing, the location is so close to many things (Savannah is very walkable anyway), parking was right across the street, the wine and cheese even on our first night was so nice of the hotel to offer (extend it through the weekend, too, please!). The only issue had nothing to do with the hotel, but there was construction happening on the parking garage across the street. On a weekend morning, they started some loud work at 7am. But this was not the hotel's fault at all.

The Planters Inn is in a perfect location for exploring Savannah. It is right across the street from a parking garage, and most of the rooms have that view. We stayed for 2 nights here. Our room was on the 5th floor so we didn't have road noise other than a couple of loud cars. The room was clean overall, but the corners were a bit dusty. The bed was fine, but it did creak a bit. The AC was either cold or not, nothing in between. The overall feel of the place was that it's aging and needs a face-lift. No refrigerator, but there were coffee facilities in-room. We didn't use the valet parking (~$35/day), just parked across the street ($28/day).
