Plan b Burger Bar - Simsbury - Hamburger restaurant in Simsbury - 4 Railroad St, USA

I wanted to like this restaurant more than I did, and I am willing to give it a second chance. It makes a great first impression: with the historic building, the classy interior, and the great pickles on the table (instead of bread or pretzels). But we were there on a very hot day and the AC was anemic, and my fiancee and I were soon sweating from the heat and humidity. Plus our corner of the restaurant was full of large flies that we were constantly waving away while trying to eat. As for the food itself, I was hoping to have a great burger, but it was just ok (I got the Blue Cheese Burger). My fiancee got the "3 Shrooms" burger and was very happy with it, but mine did not live up to the standard set by the decor or the pickles. I'd be willing to try again on a cooler day (hopefully with fewer flies), but I'm not exactly in a rush. The staff were perfectly friendly, but it was a slow Thursday afternoon so they didn't stand out one way or the other.

We cannot recommend Plan B - Simsbury and Adrian Bernard enough. We utilized the downstairs room at Plan B for our wedding welcome dinner, which had ~40 people. The space was clean, cozy, and our guests had a great time. Adrian was professional, easy to work with, and ensured the entire night went smoothly. Make sure to check out Plan B for your next party!

What a fun place to eat! Great food, nice atmosphere in a former train station and TVs tuned into sports. This was my first time visiting, and came with my 6 year old son. We both enjoyed the experience. I started with the jalapeño poppers, which were tasty but not hot. The Shepards pie can steaming hot in a skillet. Also quite tasty but not as highly seasoned as some places, allowing the natural flavor of the beef to be accented (it us a hamburger place after all). The kids grilled cheese and tater tots were well received. The kid's sundae was delicious and a more generous portion than many places. The restaurant was buzzing and packed throughout our entire stay. Still it wasn't loud and we were able to carry on a conversation. The service was excellent as well. We enjoyed our visit to Plan B and look forward to our next visit.

We rolled in with most of a youth hockey team and their parents and they not only accommodated us, but the food and service were exceptional! Ben was great with the kids. Thank you!!

I have been here a few times. Very consistent place. Food is always good. Service is always good. Loads of options for drinks. I love the pickles here. They bring out a bowl if you request them. More of a refrigerator type pickle and easy to eat! I need the recipe. Good atmosphere in a smaller setting. Good options if you are in town or traveling through!

Food was amazing! I would share a photo a photo of the food, but we all cleared our plates. There were roughly 20 of us — hockey parents and kids — and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. Chef Matt is amazing and server Ben was very attentive. Highly recommend this charming spot — the basement is great for large crowds. Five stars!

Mistakes happen - just own them. I normally don't write poor reviews as there are too many but here's a way for you to improve - I had a poor meal experience recently. The steak on my philly burger was so fatty I could not consume it although I honestly tried. After requesting my bill so I could simply leave and giving the reason as my fatty steak, a manager insisted on telling me how good you are and that I should come back. No you are not. You are not as good as you think. Twice I had to remove the meat you prepared for me from my mouth as I could not chew it. That's not very good, is it? Had you apologized for a mistake, this review would not be online. Instead, you insisted on telling me how great you are and honestly, that's the problem and that is exactly how you can improve. Stop telling yourself that you don't make mistakes. You do. Correct them when they happen, do not excuse them. Good luck.

Been coming to the restaurant for about 9 years. The past couple of times has been really bad. Today’s experience was so very disappointing. Came in with family from out of town and felt actually embarrassed that we had recommended it. My 12 year old son didn’t receive his meal until the rest of the party (7 of us) had finished. Got a few sorrys along the way but when it started to become ridiculous and we complained we was told that there was people in front of us waiting. Well when we walked in and hour and a half prior the restaurant was empty. No one that came in before us would have been still there and surely serving a child’s meal should have taken priority over anyone that ordered after ???? Won’t be returning in the near future. My burger was also cold. Not happy at all.
