Pirate's Cove - Resort hotel in Daytona Beach - 3501 S Atlantic Ave, USA

The airbnb process was easy. Clean room, all amenities were provided (included beach towels, chairs and umbrella), close to everything we did. Units are all privately owned so I liked that it was not a traditional hotel.

UNIT 427 I first have to say that I will never ever book through Vacasa/Agoda again. It was a nightmare from the get-go. They didn't send us the check in information or EVEN THE ADDRESS of the building. After 2 LONG phone calls, we FINALLY got in. The place was disgusting. Closet doors off, open uncovered light sockets hanging IN THE SHOWER, floors so filthy that I wiped up a water spill and the towel was black. Rusted nasty kitchen chair- JUST 1! Recep in the wall that pushes in when you try to plug something into them. Mismatched curtains; 2 panels of darkening with holes in them; 2 thin panels that lets the sunshine right through blinding you in the morning, and they hung OVER the AC so you had to push them out of the way and hold them there w books. The A/C smelled like someone urinated in it. The whole apt. smells of urine and mold. The shower is moldy. You have to let the water run for 12-15 minutes before you get any hot water. We couldn't use the S end of the already small balcony b/c balcony above us was dripping water. PVC pipes all over for AC but NONE CONNECTED. TWO forks so good luck if you have more than 2 people to eat. This place was supposed to accommodate 4 but there's only 2 KITCHEN chairs on balcony and 1 at the desk/(table?) They're all rusted and going to collapse on someone. NO BEACH ACCESS!! NO POOL!!! NONE OF THIS WAS MENTIONED IN THE LISTING!! FALSE ADVERTISING!!! You have to walk to the street at the end of the building, around the construction, play chicken with cars in the street because there's no sidewalks, then lug your beach accessories down the sand. It's harder getting back as you have to climb the hill in the sand, dodging cars, to get back to the building. The key code is a 7 digit number!! WTH?! The lock works about every 3 times so if you're standing there with a load, better get comfortable and drop it all. There's only ONE switch for fan/light so if you want the fan on at night, you have to climb on the bed and pull the short little chain for the light; reverse in the morning. There's NO LIGHTS in the fan/light above the stove so when you're working at the sink/counter/stove you're in the dark. HORRIBLE PLACE! LIGHTING IS HORRIBLE. There is ONE plug in the bathroom 5 feet from the mirror! NASTY stains on the bed spread ... yuck

This older beachfront building is a condominium in Daytona Beach Shores. The units are all individually owned and so rentals are found in various websites and managed individually. The signs in the building remind guests that there is no on-site management; each unit is handled privately by its owner, so its important to make sure of the pertinent information for your booking! The beach here is considered a "Family Beach." It doesn't have the crazy raucous atmosphere like Daytona itself, and very SAFE. The building is homey and well-kept, although it was damaged in the double hurricanes that hit in 2022. Consequently, the building was closed for several months while renovations took place and it reopened August 2023. New and refreshed elevators, decor, and amenities are still waiting on the pool and deck, due to State Coastal Environmental Regulations. The beach is fully accessible and beautiful! There are tons of local restaurants and activities, too!

Positive: The location size , cleaners and decor. It was a small suite not just a room. The veiw was great. Easy access to room. Definitely will book again! Negative: The refrigerator did not get cold. Freezer worked with plenty of ice. Cold drinks was our main goal so ice worked over fridge not working. Still no pool as hurricane damage is still under construction. Despite this I will book again Negative: ""

Positive: Was a great last minute option Negative: No beach access from hotel it hasnt been remodeled since last hurricane. Only staff working are cleaning staff. Cant ask them any questions. All reservations are conducted thru text. If you dont get a text with information you dont get the room.

I read many reveiws and what people do not understand is this area went through a catastrophic weather event. After 2 yrs much repair is still going on. I rented a Triple Studio suite. The room was very large nicely decorated had a side veiw of the ocean. Morning sunrise was right behind hotel. We had a great time during our 2 night stay.

Worst hotel do not stay here. I paid for a studio with 2 queen beds showed up no one at front desk checking in was a total nightmare get to my room finally and walk in only 1 bed. Room was dirty no remote for tv bed partially on the floor the pool is empty and there is no one to call to fix any of the problems. I walked right out and went to another hotel. Worst experience ever!!!!!!!! They deserve negative stars

This bldg is in an amazing location. We had an amazing room choice. The pool is still not open but the ocean is only foot steps away. Very clean location
