Very pleasant short hike from the Nancy Malmgren Environmental Learning Center to the orchard. The stairs through Fern Glenn are the steepest part, otherwise flat. Keep an eye out for snowdrops in late winter/early spring!
This place is so cool. A hidden orchard nearly 100 years old. Lots of interesting varieties of pear, apple, chestnut, filbert trees. Really neat to stroll up the slope and check out the trees. Looks like in snow it has some nice runs for sledding.
We are truly privileged and lucky to have access to such a beautiful well maintained and loved orchard. Thank you to all the volunteers who discovered and worked hard to bring this beautiful space back to life. As a child who grew up with an orchard, it means the world to me. Would recommend spending some quite time there. All fruit trees are named and a little info on their origin and age. It's in bloom right now and probably looks like it did 100 years ago. So lucky 🤗
My family has lived nearby and enjoyed this beautiful respite. Volunteered many years ago to help rehab. Seattle Parks largest edible landscape, no pesticides used and the People's trees and fruit. Enjoy but remember to be a good steward and respect Mother Naure
Nice easy hike. free apples but many are highvup and most have worms or other imperfections. many apples on the ground. Some could be used for cider or baking if you cut out some bad parts since the park uses no insecticides or chemicals.free parking within 15 minutes walk to the orchard.
This is an amazing hidden secret history of Seattle. This orchard was hiding in the forest for nearly 100 years. Now you can pick heirloom apple varieties some of which were bred in the 18th century.
Amazing 100 year old orchard
My dogs favorite place to run. And in the fall you can sample some of the apples and a apple press public cider press in September. Have even seen coyotes in the orchard.

My wife and I came here by accident. We were both very pleasantly surprised by the taste of real coffee. But the main thing is a pleasant atmosphere, unobtrusive quiet music, a cultured audience and very friendly staff. A small coffee shop with a big
