This was worth the 2.5-hour drive for my aviation enthusiast. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and had a passion for the company that once was. It wasn't until we were 3/4 the way through the tour that we got an additional two people came on board. There is a very dated flight simulator that my son tried, but was still worth the $10 extra.
Unforgettable trip, because I passed by here on the trip, I didn't make an appointment in advance (according to the current opening policy of the museum, you need to make an appointment in advance), as a student pilot, this place is sacred. The planes here are meticulously maintained and ready to take off. If you're a fan of airplane photography, the museum's parking lot also provides a good location for photography at the adjacent airport.
I didn’t remember the price for the ticket, but it won’t be very expensive. The whole museum has two floors with lots of models of the plane ✈️ and the history of the piper aviation company. I do think it’s a wonderful place for you to learn the history as well as know the passion behind that generation for aviation as well as the dream of flying to the sky. I do appreciate that there is a chance for us to get into the one of the piper playing to see all the control knobs and playing for a little while.
Nice museum, packed with a lot of interesting history. Very knowledgeable staff.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this museum. Tours of the museum are largely self guided but Ed did a great job of bouncing between visitors and sharing great additional information. Admission is inexpensive and the museum is only 5-10 miles off I-80. If you love aviation and are traveling through PA, be sure to stop by.
We flew in on a Sunday, and were delighted with the fact that there is free aircraft parking right infront of the museum. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. This museum is a great way to spend an afternoon if you are in the area. Airport was well taken care of as well.
Great place full of powerful history. The passion of those who run the museum is infectious. The nearby runway still helds annual gathering of Piper planes which are in perfect condition even today.
Grew up with Daddy flying the later model planes. It was great getting to see how they all started and how they progressed through the years. Brought back alot of childhood smiles. It's small but very well out together. Takes about 2 hrs to go through the whole thing. May not be best for young children, especially those who can't read or tend to be rambunctious. Absolutely wonderful for those (young and old) who have any interest in aviation!
