Pintu’s Palace is and always has been, the BEST Indian food served here in Western Mass. It is a staple restaurant to the community of West Springfield. Once you try it, you can’t get enough and crave the lunch buffet. The price is appropriate and during lunch it’s all you can eat for one price. That can’t be beat for the quality food you’ll have here. I go to many Indian food establishments in Boston and NYC and I compare every taste experience to here. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. The staff is great with replenishing the buffet as the food here goes quick and is great with making sure your water is always filled. Lunch time is very popular among business professionals and locals who love Pintu’s food. The Chicken Tikka Masala, Bhindi , Chana Masala, Pakora and Naan are my favorite go-to’s. The space features booth seating and a larger dining area for hosting events. Plenty of parking on site.
Enjoyed a dinner here. Liked the lamb rogan josh but loved the achari chicken (must try). Staff were nice. The portion size was a little bit smaller than my typical experience at other places.
We took a 40 min drive and went to this place for their lunch buffet. We had called few weeks earlier and it was 21$ but now it was 25$ . To be honest for 25$ , the food served wasn’t at all worth it. There was just pakoda and chicken tandoor for starter. Naan, plain Rice was like usual. Chicken butter curry was ok. Bhindi was so dry. The black eyed bean wasn’t good at all. The chole and mix veg gravy was a little good along with the kheer. We have had better food with much much options at this price. Wouldn’t recommend the buffet.
The food was excellent and the staff friendly.I strongly recommend Pintu’s if you want high quality, delicious Indian food. I just wish if they can change the interior decor.
I have to tell you, I have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants--all over the country. (Not in India, lol). You remember I was a food critic in CA and was actually paid for my opinion. :) So when I say that Pintu's Indian Restaurant stands tall among them all, I am not exaggerating. The food is excellent, all made from scratch, highly refined and complex, and amazingly delicious. We had our favorites--Nav Ratan Korma, a delicious vegetarian concoction of nine veggies and pureed nuts in a memorable cream sauce, and Lamb Muglai Korma (I'm thinking Korma must mean vegetables), with tender chunks of lamb, simmered with nuts and raisins in a creamy curry sauce---to die for. And, of course, naan--this time a perfect roasted garlic naan, great for sopping up those cream sauces, so not one drop is wasted. Pintu Chawla, the owner, was gracious and friendly (I read some people said he is rude. I suspect they were the once initiating rudeness). It takes a lot to make a success of running restaurants these days--more than usual even. Pintu knows what he's doing. His staff is well managed. And, even the Indian music and comfy booths make the stay very pleasant. If there were tablecloths, china, and crystal, it would rival any five-star restaurant out there. But I give it five anyway for the reasons stated. This will be our new favorite for Indian food--which we absolutely love when it's done well.
Had a great meal there with friends, food was excellent, and I did not lose the credit card roulette!!
We went with a large group of 12 people having made a reservation. The owner was unfriendly and rude. He told us to "stop playing musical chairs" as we were waiting for some colleagues to get there and trying to find more chairs. Food was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Prices are on the higher side given the quality of the food. The only positive was that the servers were very polite. Overall, an okay dining experience that I would not repeat.
I really wanted to like this restaurant but the food was practically flavorless. This is not an authentic Indian restaurant by any means. Despite having an Indian owner and Indian employees, the food lacks the touch of authenticity. The chicken makhni tasted sweet and so did the naan. Anyone that has ever had real Indian food knows that it isn’t supposed to taste like sugar was sprinkled in. The only palatable dish was the tandoori chicken and even that lacked the necessary spice that Indian food requires. The service was okay. The servers were polite and attended to us right away. The decorations are the best part of this restaurant and makes it feel home-like. The lights are dim and welcoming. It’s a shame that the food tastes so watered down. This place has a lot of potential that is being wasted by catering to the demographic of the people who eat here. I didn’t see a single brown person near this place besides the employees and now I know why!
