First time back in a long long time(moved out of town many years ago), but was a regular back in the 90's. Food was great, my dish of seafood and pasta was outstanding. The service was a slow but they were busy, my daughter carbonara was way below acceptable, though she asked for fettuccine instead of pasta- but that should not have changed the dish much.
The place is old looking inside and out. The pizza had raw large bits of vegetables with undercooked cheese underneath. Manny & Olga's tastes better and its around the corner.
My 1st visit since they relocated to Cordell Ave. I was pleased that the simple traditional Italian cooking was still a staple. The atmosphere has always been so-so which is okay with me. I was bothered by my service. I was a party of 1 for an early dinner, 5pm, there was no gracious greeting! My server was prompt & efficient. Although other than serving courses he did not stop & ask how my meal was. I grew up in an Italian family, with traditional non flashy Italian cuisine, much like Pines of Rome, I love this culinary experience. I was mystified by the lack of hospitality and caring to make me feel welcome, as my parents & grandparents always treated everyone visiting our home.
I came to the Pines of Rome quite often with my family as a kid but it has been about 10-12 years since my last meal here (old location). But let me tell you what, the quality has NOT changed. I was so excited to go with some cousins and a few days later I’m still thinking about it. This has to be a top contender for Italian cuisine in the DMV area. Very simple atmosphere but top notch! Our appetizers were killer and the eggplant parm was rockin! Thank you for keeping up your quality and product. I wish to be back soon!
I've been dining at the Pines since the early 80s, at their old location on Hampden Lane. I don't get to Bethesda often but decided to grab an early dinner at their new location of 5 years on Cordell Avenue, my first visit there. Although they're in a new and larger space, the menu, atmosphere and delicious, traditional cooking remains as good as ever. I started with their famous white pizza with fontina and my main was veal parmesan (don't @ me!). Delizioso! Can't wait to go back.
Terrific restaurant I've been coming here for years, their staff are so friendly, food is very fresh. I wish they had better food containers for take out it doesn't seal well the box was full of liquids. Overall food is great! Love their pastas and tried their whole fish branzino tonight i like that they spruce it up with chopped garlic and herbs. Everything I've tried is good!
It's a restaurant l have been going to from a very young age. The food is always fresh and l have never had a bad meal. This is white pizza and chicken parm. But everything is great.
This is a charming Italian restaurant with yummy food that is obviously prepared with love. The service is a little on the rushed side, but we still got a free dessert out of the blue, which was a nice touch. The inside is dated, but kind of cozy in a "been here 30 years we're not changing" kind of way - e.g, burnt out bulbs, mismatched decor, and scruffy furniture. I personally thought it was fun. The marinara sauce is divine and used in a variety of dishes. The bread is also next level. I hope these types of restaurants never go away.
Iâm new to personal training and am thrilled with my experience at Fitness Together at this point. What a difference between FT and the standard big box gym! FT offers great trainers with an approach focused on me and my goals, an intimate workout
We have used Pita on the Plaza to cater 2 different work events and have been so happy each time. The food is incredible and Norma is such a pleasure to work with. They are so accommodating and helpful. This place is wonderful!
