Unplayable and overpriced. First time playing here and I got lost at least 4 times due to NO signs anywhere on the course telling you where the next hole is. You'll finish a hole then there's a 3 way intersection and you're left to decide which way is the next hole. When you do figure out you're approaching the correct hole there are barely visible 3"x 9" signs indicating which hole you're on. Overall it slowed down play and made the experience insufferable. Course conditions were that of a $50 golf club. I paid over double that to play here. Only good thing about this place is the history behind it and the staff.
The rooms are dated but but warm cozy and clean. The shower was excellent. Dinner was very good with a golf course and bar atmosphere. Golf course is very nice and playable.
Stayed here for two nights. ||The Good: both courses we played were excellent. Starters and one waiter at Pine Needles resort were great.||The Bad: pretty much the rest. Checked in late and the woman helming the desk was disinterested and kept talking in her cell phone for what appeared to be a personal call during our check in process. After getting to our room, we were greeted by a little happy dog being directly beneath us constantly barking for 15 minutes. I tried calling the front desk, but when I went to use the phone the cord pulled out from the phone as the clip at the end of the cord had broken. Was able to hold it in place, but could not get the phone to call the front desk. So I used my cell and went through the prompts to get the front desk. No one answered.||So I Went back to the front desk to inquire and found the same woman now casually talking to a bellhop, and this presumably ignoring my call. I was eventually told dogs are permitted and they’d call the folks to tell them a complaint had been received. Returned to the room and the dog kept barking for another 20+ minutes until we presumed the owners returned.||Finally, quiet. Our next pleasure was to see a cockroach climbing up the wall of our room up high above a bed. The room had high ceilings, so I couldn’t kill it. Hopefully it hid somewhere besides our bags.||Next morning, we showered. Drain was clogged and backed up. Let the front desk know before golfing. Went to shower after golf and drain had been unclogged. Unfortunately, beds weren’t made, and no new towels or shampoo/supplies delivered. So no room service during our stay. Perhaps this is policy, which is fine, but we felt we should have been told at check in so we’d know what to expect.||Rooms and hotel are really dated. There is charm, but you have to know going in this is not a fancy place; it is decidedly no frills.||We liked the golf so much we discussed possibly going back. But we’ll at least know ahead of time that all of the employees, save two we encountered, appear both disinterested and unhappy, which obviously leads to poor customer service. ||
Pine needles is a great course. To start this off Myself and the guys in my group are normal guys. We aren’t snobs or people who have to be catered to. With that being said Pine Needles staff is completely rude and non helpful. The starters were great other than that everyone else was just happy to get your money or vouchers and send you on your way. I asked in the afternoon about buying a pin flag and you would of thought I was asking someone to “ rope the moon”. I collect them and it was a simple task the entire experience with customer service was very strange. Very very rude and with the pro shops response all of the guys in my group didn’t buy one single thing. 98 degree heat index no water on the course, water fountains broken, the halfway house was the only option. How can a stacked tee sheet not have a beverage cart person? The course is a very nice track the staff though awful.
The lodge room is understandably tiny but the smell was so unpleasant. It’s a shame that such great a golf course is bundled with these poor huts.
I've never played golf there, but the grounds are beautiful! The restaurant is great too!
Great layout kept in great condition that relies on this being the only take away. Because look past this and realize the golfers aren’t a priority once they’ve paid. No GPS in the carts. No hole map on the scorecards. No reflectors on the pins. No water on the course!! (all water fountains broken). No cart person bringing beverages around. The bunkers were not raked the morning we played (Sunday) and the walk mower was dragging something on the first 3 greens — no clue how they didn’t notice. In summary, $195 for unattended bunkers and no water on a 100° heat index day. Great layout with immaculate turf though…
What an experience! The hotel is older and in dire need of an update. However what the rooms lack everything else makes up for. The staff at both Pine Needles and Mid Pines are both amazing. The entire staff of F&B servers and attendants were friendly and attentive. The food was good. Not always great but definitely good. The golf staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made learning so much fun! Definitely a must!!

A hidden coffee gem with chic atmosphere and natural lighting. On a Monday morning, I strolled in with only one person inside. So it was quiet. The owner has a kind hearted soul. She was helpful on a difficult order I had for someone else. Thereâs
Nice local coffee shoppe!! Wonderful cup today, thanks!! Sells fresh roasted whole bean, ground, & lots of local artisan crafts. Fun stop for good quality vibes!!
Great place to eat. Went here on a date with my wife and we had a blast. Waitress is personable and even a bit cheeky, food is excellent, atmosphere is quaint and romantic. Just a great spot.
Great place for a tasty and enjoyable lunch. The half a sandwich is just the right size. The food is served piping hot and very flavorful. If you get chip they are very crispy and packed with flavor, for a brand I have never seen. Setting is limited
If you are looking for a safe place to ride, this is it! Safe, open trails where you can ride two or three deep, no rocks and little streams and jumps to challenge yourself and your horse. Mostly shaded so you aren't in the heat. Highly recommend!
Food was great! All the tacos I tried were great, staff inside were very friendly. Couple picnic tables by the truck would make eating easier but it's a great spot!
