Pine Lodge Steakhouse - Steak house in McHenry - 1520 Deep Creek Dr, USA

In celebration of Father’s Day weekend, we picked this steakhouse. I can usually like at least one thing anywhere. This place was a huge let down, terribly overrated. The atmosphere is confusing. The name says steakhouse, so why the awful piano music background? And gift shop came across as tacky. If you want a fancy restaurant with expensive food and piano music fine. But don’t call it a steakhouse either taxidermy decor and a gift shop. This restaurant is confused, in my opinion. As for the food-awful. I ordered Alfredo and it came out very dry. I had to ask for additional sauce. Sadly, my husband got sick- we think it was the scallops. Which were crazy expensive and served in a teeny tiny bowl-no presentation. The ranch said homemade. Another waiter said “it’s usually thicker” so that tells me it was watered down to make it go further? The French onion soup was terribly over salted. The steak was cooked more medium than medium rare- but wasn’t a quality piece of meat for the price. At that cost it should’ve melted in your mouth, but that wasn’t the case with this tough piece. Our meal was crazy expensive- not including tip and was AWFUL. I don’t recommend this place at all. However our waiter was very nice and pleasant.

We celebrated our 43rd anniversary at Pine Lodge. The crew there couldn't have made our celebration any greater. Flowers, food, drinks, and service for us and our guests were above expectations. Thanks to Bob, Rhonda, Maddie, and others for a wonderful anniversary celebration. Jim and Karen Kight

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Pine Lodge Steakhouse during our weekend ski vacation! Our family had the pleasure of having Jaime as our server who was incredibly attentive, provided honest feedback to our questions, and was quite funny! Some of our favorites included the Filet Mignon, Oak Barrel Steak, Crabby Chicken, Moonshine Ribs, and Loaded Mashed Potatoes! Portions are a generous size. Bathrooms were clean and there is a nice gift shop. This is a great spot with a cozy atmosphere. We’ll be back!

Restaurant was confusingly laid out, but once seated we were having a good time. The espresso martini was extremely sweet, syrupy might be the best word... the old fashioned was far better in terms of balance. The cowboy steak was quite good, the fat was rendered well and the mac/cheese was really good. I just wish I got double the jalapeños. The steaks garlic butter sauce was well fitted and it was prepared very well. The waitress was pleasant and the atmosphere is...as expected looking at it from the outside.

Chicken wings is no bones, so don’t be surprised when it comes. It’s a small portion for the price but tastes really good. For entree I had crabby chicken with a side of baked potato, it was delicious, chicken breast done perfectly, juicy and crab on top was just delicious. My husband had cowboy stake with a side of loaded mashed potatoes, he was very happy, he asked medium and he said it was very good. He finished 16oz meat, I was impressed lol. It’s a cozy environment. The decor was good, fireplace going with some Christmas decors. I liked it. Our server was very nice and efficient also. All in all very much recommend for a date night or a cozy dinner when you are here for a vacation.

We made reservations through Open Table but when we go there the restaurant upstairs was closed. No one called to tell us! We drove an hour for a restaurant with a view. We ended up eating in the bar downstairs. The music was horrible. Sarah our waitresses was very attentive despite being the only waitresses working. The crab cakes were exceptional, gluten free and bell pepper free.

Pine Lodge has become one of my favorite restaurants in Deep Creek. What really gets me excited is the prime rib! It is difficult to find places that have it anymore. The staff was so kind and attentive (shout out to Brant!). I celebrated my first wedding anniversary here and made the hour drive down, simply because of how much I adore this place!

Fantastic service and food! We were a large group and shared all the appetizers. All were delicious! in addition, everyone commented on how good their entrees were. And… don’t forget the cocktails. We tried several and loved them all. I don’t always find my wine but they had it! As far as ambience, I loved it. It reminded me of the Wyoming lodges I’ve frequented. They accommodated us with a private room, which made our evening nice. The kids could play freely and the adults easily roamed around. Relative to cost… I’ve traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally, and their prices were in line with what I have experienced. So, look at the menu before going and if you can accept the prices, relax and enjoy this gem.
