I had heard about this place and decided to give it a try since I was passing through town. The bakery looked amazing when I walked in, but the food was very average. The ham steak was really salty, and the hot beef sandwich was not very lean. There were a lot of flies in the restaurant, which is not a good thing by any restaurant standards.
It was a very busy weekend morning. The left side is seat yourself. This afforded me the opportunity to be seated immediately while more than 20 people waited to be seated on the right side. I went to the lobby area to tell people 2 times that they could sit themselves.
Best eclairs I’ve ever had!!! Came for dinner. We all got the special of pork loin and dressing; very good. Impressive amount of food for the amount we paid. Will definitely be back!
Great restaurant! Loved the food. The waitresses were awesome! Would definitely recommend a visit here!
My house salad was iceberg lettuce, 2 grape tomatoes & 1 piece of julienne carrot. The ranch dressing was ok. I didn't see anything on the menu I wanted so I just ordered some American Fries. I was hoping for crispy chopped potatoes. Maybe a bit of onion and seasoning. Nope just julienne potatoes that where a mite bit greasy. The bakery counter at checkout looked promising when I came in. I wasn't asked if I wanted anything at my table and decided to pass on the way out. I remember now why I haven't been here in about a decade. Nothing I ready want.
Wow, what a find for a truck driver or traveler. If you live locally you have probably already been here, and I’m not sharing a anything new. I ordered the fried walleye and shrimp dinner. The shrimp was tasty but otherwise basic fried shrimp, but for a couple dollars for 12 it’s a great add on. The walleye is really good and served in 8 oz portions. Let’s talk about portion size for a quick second, everything here is super sized. My dinner was paired with a salad (basic but fresh) and a dinner roll bigger than my fist served hot. It had a slight sweetness and with some butter was really good. I can eat quite a bit, but was only able to finish half or less of the French fries that came served on its own plate. For $21 I got more than enough good high quality freshly made food. There are daily specials to choose from. From where I was sitting, everything coming out of the kitchen looked like something I would consider ordering in a future visit. When you get up to leave, you will have your chance to go through the bakery line. It’s a great selection and worth stopping for if you aren’t ready for a full meal. Cookies are the size of your hand fully spread, I would guess a full 8 inches in diameter and most of them are just $1.75 each. The eclairs and cream puffs looked amazing and were equally super sized. Enough to share with at least one other person. The service was friendly and efficient, even though the restaurant was busy on a Sunday afternoon. But wait there is more. Make sure to check out the convenience store attached for more desserts, snacks, drinks. souvenirs, cured meats and cheeses. There is truly something for everyone at this travel center. Truck drivers get there early. There are quite a few places to park, but there is also an outlet center next door too. There wasn’t a huge selection of stores but the Nike store had some really good items at great prices. This is a place I would come too every time I drive through.
Food was either bland or salty. Dessert was okay. Service was okay - she slipped the receipt under the to-go boxes & I did not see it, so was waiting there for a few minute. Wish she had said something. No refills on drinks either.
Only visited the bakery counter this time. Excellent bakery as usual, large selection. The food in the restaurant is fantastic. If you never had the chicken and dumpling soup you have got to try it. You can order a quart to go or quarts from the bakery counter also. This place will no disappoint.

The large dog enclosure is acres of fun for your large dog. In the spring it can be rather wet so be prepared if your dog loves to splash in the mud like our big boy. The water well pump serves up easy and refreshing water. Thereâs a double gate en
I tried the hush puppy breaded fish and chips and was not disappointed. The light breading and the subtle flavor was terrific. I will definitely enjoy it again. My wife enjoyed the gyro and that is now on my 'to try' list as she enjoyed it very much.
