On January 29th, we arrived at Pine Acres Lodge for a week long stay. We arrived earlier than normal check-in time, however, our unit was ready and we got in early. Check-in was very quick and easy. ||This is an older property, but well maintained. There are a total of 14 units, varying in size from studio to two bedroom. Our assigned unit was a one bedroom. It has a comfortable queen bed in the bedroom and a queen Murphy bed in the livingroom. The bedroom is small, with a small half length closet, with built-in drawers below it.||The bathroom is a fair size, with a tub/shower combo. The bathroom vanity has been updated. ||The kitchen has been completely refurbished with all new appliances and new countertop. There is a built-in table large enough to accommodate 4 people. ||Flooring throughout the unit has been updated. ||There is one flat panel television, located in the livingroom. It is a smart TV and capable of accessing cable channels, as well as many online applications. ||This unit has a good size deck, accessible from the bedroom. ||Lighting throughout the unit is good, however, the bedside lamps are on a motion sensor wall switch, which is problematic. The bedside electric outlets are on the same sensor, so plugging in a sound machine or phone charger is also a problem. ||The grounds of the property are well maintained. Convenient parking is provided directly in front of or adjacent to each unit. The units have good heating but no a/c.||There is laundry on site, with a coin operated washer and dryer for guest use. ||||Overall, this is a very nice, quiet complex, and a convenient location for exploring the area.||

We loved the layout of our townhouse unit. The two bedrooms were downstairs making it easy to get in and out and had one bathroom between them. The upstairs living room had a sectional couch with a pull-out bed and the second bathroom with a shower. The table sat six people nicely. The kitchen was well-equipped. The unit was very clean. The hot tub was wonderful for warming up after our many walks to tide pools and beaches. We will enjoyed getting to know Andrea and Heidi at the office who were friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay at the Pine Acres Lodge again when in the Monterey/Pacific Grove area!

This property has been nicely updated and had everything we needed or wanted. It was quiet, comfortable and well maintained. While in the town of Pacific Grove, it was in a mostly residential area on a dead end street, so it was quiet and we had no concerns about security. It is about a four block walk to the beach which is a state park with a wonderful walking trail along the magnificent shoreline. ||The resort didn't offer any organized activities, which was fine...there are plenty of things to do and see on the Monterey peninsula. A trip round the 17 Mile drive is always a treat and day trips to Carmel, Big Sur and Santa Cruz offer lots of variety and great scenery. Dining and drinking anywhere in the area tends to be expensive, but there are a lot to choose from.

Nice place, roomy, quiet, great Pacific Grove location! Fantastic hot tub that merits special mention, runs sweet, at a great temperature. Extra clean and accommodating restroom, sun bathing deck, and peaceful setting. The tree's indigenous to the area, are fragrant, and add enormously to this property's atmosphere. Easy walk, albeit a little hilly, to many shops and restaurants, that shouldn't be taken for granted. Pacific Grove and Monterey are truly walking towns that are an American treasure and not to be overlooked.

Been going for years, but after a recent experience I don't trust the management of the property to properly address sincere concerns and risks to guests. On our visit in November, we discovered a nest of bed bugs on the underside of the mattress pad the last night we were there. After researching what I could about what to do that night, I got to work taking every precaution suggested; disposing of luggage, packing things into large garbage bags, etc. . . . Then I notified resort staff & supplied them with a trapped bug inside a water bottle that I had caught that morning, photos of the bugs on the mattress pad and of some of the bites, as well as any details that I hoped would be helpful. Research had indicated it had to be treated by a professional pest control company or it would quickly get out of hand at a resort. I then asked for a call from the pest control company that the property staff had indicated was coming, so that I could ask for any additional advice, to prevent the bed bugs from coming into my home upon arrival. Staff assured me upon checking out that a company had already been called, so I expected a phone call soon. Additionally I had noticed that they had cleaning crews in the room as soon as we left, which I found odd, but dismissed it at the time, assuming they knew how to handle it. The only contact I received wasn't until late the next evening, it was an email from them, which read: "We have had the room thoroughly inspected and there were no bed bugs found. The Pest control company did look at your pictures and said that it is a definite possibility that those were bedbugs in the picture. We did notice that the blanket or surface that the bugs were on in the picture was not any type of blanket we have here at the Lodge. The Pest control company did say that it was possible that the bedbugs were brought in on your stuff and that it was important that you check your own house and that we keep an eye out for any new infestation that was brought in." After that response, I became concerned that they were not only covering up the infestation, but lying about the handling of it. I was suspected that another guest may have been checked into that room, so I requested the name of the company who had inspected the room. After a week of dodgy emails I finally got the manager Debra to admit that they never had a pest control company come and inspect the room. I did notify the Health Department, and the HOA of the situation at that point. Several weeks later, I did receive an email from the property management company of Pine Acres indicating that the room was treated by a pest control company 7 days after we checked out. Which caused me to suspect that they had in fact allowed more guests to check into the unit and be exposed to the infestation. Knowing the room had now been treated, I did return for another trip a few months later (admittedly with some anxiety about the situation). I was grateful to not find any bed bugs in the unit we were in. I love this quaint resort but can't change my review until Debra is no longer a representative of the property. I attempted to clear the air by writing a note and apologizing if there had been any misunderstanding, but before I could even talk she was so abrupt, abrasive, & rude that I realized I had been correct in my interpretation of her emails. She had intentionally deceived me and dodged questions in order to mislead. In our brief conversation she was clear that she stood by everything she did to handle the situation, and when I inquired as to if someone else had been checked into the unit the week following our exposure to the infestation she not only refused to answer, but told me to leave her office. In summary, I sincerely tried to help take care of a situation that had greatly affected my family. I have serious concerns about how it was handled. The way I was treated was incredibly shocking. I don't understand how someone with such a clear lack of respect for guests can remain in this position.

This is located in a great area. Close to the beach. Some rooms have a mini ocean view. The rooms are very clean. Also quiet. Full kitchens. Not luxurious but nice. Parking is right in front of your room. Trader Joe’s is a short drive away. This place is highly recommended!

This is a nice place very near downtown Pacific Grove and coastal areas. Also aquarium is only about 10 min away. It is very clean and well kept up. The room was just a little too small for our special needs daughter and her wheelchair. We did kind of expect that but didn't expect it so small. If not for her special needs this place would have been a perfect cozy little stay.

We stayed at this same place forty years ago on our honeymoon and it was a quaint cute place. Now it has been redone and it is very lovely. The kitchen is great to have even if you don't fix meals. We had plenty of room for four people. It was wonderful to stay in a place that feels like home.

Wasn't sure what to expect, so I'm trying to give as detailed of a review as possible so that hopefully whoever sees it has a good idea of what they're paying for. The rooms were smaller than expected. But if you're intending to be out the whole day

Great little B&B that is centrally located in Pacific Grove. Walking distance to cannery row, the aquarium and the monarch butterfly sanctuary. The rooms were clean and everything worked well (for such an old house). We had no problems. There is a ni

A wonderful place to sit and reflect. The crashing waves are always intriguing. There is a path between several benches in the area. A great place to enjoy while on a coastal walk or bike ride.
