Visited the Trolley Museum on a whim. Best museum we visited this trip... most knowledgeable guide showed us through their restoration shop and many of their carriages and stock. Could tell immediately that Ron, our guide and the other guys working there really know their stuff... not just about the trolley stock but also the area where the museum stands, which was originally Rock Island and its history.
This is such a hidden little surprise in our city! So much history and fun! The tour guides were so knowledgeable and taught us in a fun way. There are so many pictures and displays of the trolleys and trains. My kids (10-18) loved it. It's a fantastic way to learn about the city. Know that the majority of the tour is in an unheated garage and outside so dress accordingly.
Visited the Trolley Museum on our way to Woodland Park. Very interesting museum and we had a great time with out tour guide Ron. Ron showed us their restoration shop and the outdoor collection of various Trolleys, busses and train cars including the Rock Island museum set up in a freight car. Ron was very friendly and very informed as well as enthusiastic. He did not rush us and we had a great time. We even got to ride one of the trolleys! We highly recommend visiting this collection.
If you like Trolley's and Trains, this is a great museum to goto. There is a lot of history to see and hear. Their tours are great. All of the people are very knowledgeable and nice to meet. Definitely would recommend to visit.
Nice historical place. Museum was closed but I still got good pictures of the trolleys.
It’s a very quiet museum. The staff are volunteers and railroad professionals! I come here often is so good! Even you can see trains go by that area! They have a great gift shop and have ride on tours of a trolley they have. They have multiple train layouts in N HO O and even G scale! Don’t spend your money on another museum! This is definitely a museum to look at.
A quirky museum staffed by passionate volunteers who love and restore old street cars and rail stock. They can imagine a future with trolleys running the streets of Colorado springs once again. Very cool for railroad and trolley lovers, and a great community of volunteers who restore guide tours, and dream!
If interested in railway or railway history, this is the place to see. The two volunteers that showed us around has a lot of knowledge to give. It's a walking tour and stair climbing if you want to see inside.
