Phoenix Rock Gym - Rock climbing gym in Tempe - 1353 E University Dr, USA

Been here for a couple of years now and it’s always a good vibe here. Staff are really friendly and the routes are pretty good. I do wish there was more bouldering, but definitely come here if you like to top rope. They also have a fun role to climb at the main lobby. There are some lockers on the side, clean restrooms to change, and cubbies to put away any shoes or small bags. The ceilings are pretty tall, so top rope is pretty cool from way up there! Kids are allowed but only downstairs at the bouldering area; adults only for upstairs (that’s where the better bouldering climbs are too)

I wish I could give this place 7 stars, it was perfect for us! I took my 5 year old kid to this indoor rock gym and she absolutely loved it! There was a good variation of really easy climbs she could do and lots of very hard ones for more experienced ones. I really loved the community vibe of the place; there was a "looking for a partner" board as well as lots of climbing groups and a Meetup you can join if you want to take your climbing skills out into the wild. The first-time safety briefing was quick and efficient. I'd say from walking in the door to actively climbing was about half an hour. Ben did a great job explaining everything clearly and both staff members seems to actually enjoy working there. Anytime I had a question, one was within talking distance to help me out. We got in today with the Pogo Pass but we honestly have to come back so we'll definitely be looking into memberships since my daughter loved is so much!

I’ve climbed at multiple other gyms in the valley and this one always has the best vibes and some of my favorite people. On top of rock climbing, it’s super fun to hang with friends here. Great environment and great staff

Been a staple for rock climbing in Arizona for the last decade. Great place for family’s and avid rock climbers. Have a nice high wall to climb and the rental gear is pretty good too. Have a good eating area and just nice facilities in general

Glen was so amazing and so outstanding. He was so patient and gentle with our young son, who has a difficult time trying new experiences. Glen made sure our son was comfortable when he was scared, and he was also very kind to us (the parents), working with us as we helped our son. It’s not easy for our family to venture out to try something new without some fears and tears along the way, but Glen guided all of us to make sure we were safe, and by the end of it all, our son was all smiles going up and down. My heart is so grateful for his kindness - thank you so much

Great gym, great staff. some routes can be 60 -70' long. I have always gone there by myself and always found someone to climb with. Not many leaders, so if you are looking to lead better come with your climbing partner. Found the rating a bit soft but I wouldn't rate a climbing gym based on that.

We had our girlscout meeting here and the employees were SO very patient and super friendly when teaching the girls how to work the ropes. They all had so much fun 10/10 best place to learn and grow.
