Pho Special LLC - Vietnamese restaurant in Wichita - 2409 E Pawnee St, USA

I was craving pho so we came here because years ago this was my go to spot. The flavor of the soup was mid as if it was lacking flavor. Our server was alright but not the greatest. The restaurant was very clean on the other hand. It was a good lunch date with my husband but something needs to be spiced up.

What I like about Pho Special is they are always consistent. I always get the Pho Ap Chao or the Hu Tieu Nam Vang. It's literally a toss up which dish I'm ordering that day. lol.

Been going here for over 10 years. My family have always chosen Pho Special as our go to spot. I’ve never had any issues with the food. Always good and tasty. I almost always order the Bun Bo Hue every time I come here. I also really enjoy their banh mi. I will say though, they do need to train their waiting and service staff a bit more. Sometimes they can be inattentive and a little rude. An example is how I will have to ask the server for something multiple times and it wouldn’t arrive until I’m halfway done with my food.

Thank you for going above and beyond! We are staying at a hotel from out of town. My wife ordered Pho through doordash, and the driver forgot the soup. The owner, an exceptional human being, personally drove the missing soup to our hotel after the restaurant was closed. Amazing service, and the food was well worth the wait! Bravo, Pho Special…Bravo!!

Heard so manny things about this place and thought we would give it a try. Table for 2 grabbing a quick bite with an old friend. Table was dirty with sauce on it. We sat next to the Plexiglas, and it looked like it had not been cleaned for a long time. Napkin holder was very dusty... Place needs to be completely cleaned. I was scared to order just from sitting down. 😐 The appetizer roles were so chewy on the outside and stuck to the plate. We both ordered some pho and it was good except some of the meat was chewy. Good flavor broth. Lots of staff and family sitting around inside. It was all around just blah.

This place is a first time Pho restaurant for us. Wait staff was kind and very pleasant…food was perfect- great flavor and everything was fresh. Large Pho is exactly as it says- LARGE! Its a tiny bit pricey but if you can swing it, you wont regret it. Great place, great food.

I knew the wait for my food would take a while. And that was ok cause is am willing to wait for great food. So I tried to call ahead because they have no area to wait for takeout on the inside. I called twice and waited until the answering machine picked up. I arrived knowing that would be waiting for a while. They were very busy when I arrived she took my order but could give me no time for when I would be done. I went to my car to wait. After 20 minutes I went back inside but my food still wasn’t done and I had to stand by the kitchen which constantly had orders coming out of it or the front door which constantly had customers coming in and out. I was in the way no matter where I stood. About 7 minutes after I received my meal. Tasted great! And that’s the only reason that I would return.

The food was pretty good. The restaurant is a bit dark inside and our server was decent. Good place to get pho.
