Luxury hotel in the heart of the city. Very large property with several amenities including indoor swimming pool and bowling center. Take public transportation to the hotel or you will have to pay to park as there isn't any street parking. The front reception desk was understaffed and I waited about 15 minutes to check in. The room lock/key card to my room didn't work so I was reassigned another room. It took about 30 minutes to straight out the problem. The room was large and clean with a nice view. The swimming pool area is inviting. The elevator system was poor. We always had to wait several minutes for the elevator to arrive. On one occasion, we waited at least 10 minutes for an elevator that never came. We ended up walking down 11 flights of stairs to the hotel lobby. I didn't eat or drink in the hotel.
Best center city location for play or work. Very large upscale hotel. Valet parking is available and necessary as the area has no street parking. Check in was slow with only 2 front desk employees. The first room I was assigned had a door lock issue that would not allow me to access the room. The in-house telephone on the floor hallway did not work. I had to go back to the reception area to be assigned another room. The room was nice and clean with no issues. The swimming pool area was very nice and appealing. Unfortunately, immediately after I arrived, a father with 2 small children arrived only to start constantly screaming and yelling. The noise was so discomforting that I was forced to leave. The pool attendant was very nice and apologize d for the racket. Despite the fact that my floor had 5 elevator shafts only 1 or 2 were in operation. In one instance, we waited for more than 10 minutes for an elevator that never came. We ended up walking down 11 floors to the lobby.
We had a wonderful stay and cannot wait to return. |Prior to arriving, I had messaged the hotel and requested our two rooms be adjoining, and that if they were able to upgrade one of them to suite that it would be much appreciated. A few hours before we arrived I noticed via the app that our room had been upgraded to a King Suite. When we checked in, they let us know that our rooms were adjoining. This was the perfect set up for a family of five. The king suite is extremely large with an entire living room and bedroom in one space. Our adjoining room had 2 beds. We were in rooms 662 & 664 and had great views of City Hall. ||We are Titanium Elite which gave us access to the Concierge lounge on the 23rd floor. Our first two nights we enjoyed appetizers, there was definitely enough food to make a meal out of it if it suited your taste. Shortly after appetizers, they roll out desserts! We also enjoyed breakfast a few mornings, and there was plenty of food for a full meal. The lounge is not open Friday night until Sunday so we were on our own for that. The staff in charge of the lounge was extremely friendly and accommodating.||The gym is amazing and has every piece of equipment you could possibly need, including a few Peleton bikes.||From checking in, our valet, and the gentleman that helped us take our bags to our room the entire staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We look forward to returning.
One of the best things about the Marriott Downtown Philadelphia is the location: walkable to city hall, conference center, most of the attractions of the city. And just three minutes away from the Jefferson train station, linking the city to Philadelphia airport. The hotel is clean and has the standard amenities, yet is in need to be refreshed. The bathrooms look like they have been recently renovated, unfortunately there is an issue with water pressure (very low) and consistent temperature of the water (water suddenly turns cold or hot). Internet works well and is free (presumably only for Marriott Bonvoy members). My room did not have a safe deposit box / vault. When I called the reception about it, they told me that my room specifically did not have one and that the room should not have been put in inventory, i.e. released for sale. I was allowed to change rooms the next day. After moving to a new room, I noticed that this one had a safe deposit box. But it was broken. Another disappointment was that the hotel does not provide any complimentary water in the room, but only a bottle at $6. |All in all, a relatively functional but not particularly pleasant stay.
Overall nicely kept hotel with average rooms. Beds in the double room I stayed in were full size and of decent comfort. Elevators unfortunately get tied up easily when the hotel is busy and often you can end up waiting over ten minutes just to squeeze into one you'd rather not under normal circumstances. Location is prime of course.
Did not stay at the hotel itself but went to a conference here and they had it set up pretty well. I don’t know if I would want to be a regular guest staying here during a conference because it seemed like utter chaos all the time. Nonetheless it was nice having the bar right when you walk in. The food there is not bad, the drinks are a bit pricey but good and it’s a nice atmosphere overall. I will say one of our friends that was a guest in the hotel waited 11 minutes for an elevator, so do with that info what you will. There’s escalators for the conference section so this was avoidable most of our trip.
Stayed at the PMD for one night for business. On first arrival, the hotel seemed large and cold and like a convention center. The walk to the elevators was sterile and the walk from the elevator to the room also seemed characteristic of a very large "airport" type hotel. However, the service at checkin was very warm. As was the service in the "pantry" in the lobby. I was upgraded to a suite and the room was large and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was good sized with excellent water pressure. The rooms were quiet...really a nice surprise since the hotel is so large and I've experienced slamming doors from other rooms. not infrequently, but didn't hear a peep at this hotel. Didnt get a chance to to use the fitness center, but I walked by it and it looked well equipped and clean.
Rooms are nice and clean, location is perfect. Checked in at 1pm so that process was a breeze. Didn’t use the pool but it was super outdated, no safe in the room or microwave. Elevators took forever, waited 15 min just to have to walk down 11 flights of steps. Had to take the steps twice or walk to the elevators on the opposite side of the hotel just to get up or down during my entire stay. My biggest issue was no microwave in the room. I always get food from the reading and save some for leftovers but The whole hotel shares one microwave that’s located in the dirty laundry room and takes 3 min for ur food to barely be warm and u have to wait in line. At 2am it took an extra 30 min out of my night just to warm up my food :( I was really excited for this stay but I will not being staying here again
