I tried the Number 1 Special combo at Phở Hòa Lão Vietnamese Restaurant, which includes a mix of ingredients like rare steak, well-done brisket, flank, tendon, tripe, and spring rolls. The pho was satisfying but not exceptional. It's a good spot to curb your pho craving. The standout was their fresh and generously portioned spring rolls, accompanied by tasty peanut sauce. *Keep in mind, this place is cash only.

They serve one of the best Vietnamese beef balls and all the intestines noodle soups in Oakland. However, it's a little on the pricy side. Parking is easy—many Seatings. Staffs are friendly too. Updated on 9/18/23 The business is returning—many customers sit inside and outside during lunchtime. But the prices are also getting prohibitive high. Customers, be warned!

The waiter rushed us when he was taking our order. When we asked him a question about the menu he rolled his eyes and sighed and ignored us when we asked him a question. After taking our order he rudely snatched the menus out of our hands. Definitely ruined the dining experience 👎

I'm so thankful that this restaurant is still open. The food is good and hearty. Most of the Servicers have been there for a long time and are kind and helpful. My favorite is the wonton soup. It comes in 3 sizes, like a few of their dishes. Dress warmly and come inside for a hot and wonderful meal.

I really wanted to like this spot since it's got one of the most convenient parking for pho in this area, everywhere else is street parking and paid. The pho was above average for sure and the serving size huge. But in this day and age, any restaurant that only accepts cash will automatically get 3 stars reduced from me.

One of few Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay open for breakfast. Go with an appetite. The very large portions of pho explain the price — can easily feed 2. Pho #1: Quality is in the bite. Clean tasting and fragrant broth; tender rare beef, tendon and tripe. Outdoor seating available. Cash only.

Probably the best place to eat in Oakland it's always so exciting waiting for the food as ut always gonna be amazing

I went here today on my break from work. There was miscommunication and I didnt realise that I had forgotten my wallet and it was cash only. The lady that served me was so sweet and told me that we were both working people and she was glad I wasnt mad at her for not informing me it was cash only. She afforded me the trust and faith that I would come back and pay her. She even invited me to come back with my family to enjoy the food. Oakland is a horrible place in a lot of ways. This lady restores my faith in the people of this city. And the food was incredible. Will recommended this place to anyone I can. Still blown away by her kindness.
