Wonderful stop on Route 66! The owner was so friendly and spent some time chatting with us and sharing the story of the little museum. All of the memorabilia in the museum is from his personal collection!
There’s also a small gift shop with some great Route 66 souvenirs!
We stopped by Pete's Route 66 Gas Station Museum on a weekday in May, 2023. It's a really nice place that has some nice stuff. It's located in a nice spot in Williams that make visiting that much easier or nicer.
Unfortunately the owner was busy with other folks, so we didn't get to speak with him. So I looked around and took some pictures. The nice lady in the gift shop informed us that you were not allowed to take pictures inside the gift shop for some reason. So I abided by her wishes and just took some pictures of the building and garage section.
A nice little place to stop and visit.
An iconic place on Route 66 in Williams, fits perfectly the Mother Road style. You absolutely need to stop here and visit inside! The historic gas station is filled with old restored gas pumps, oil and lubricant cans, old plates and so much more! There are also articles on sale, and we purchased some car plates as souvenirs.
Definitively recommended!
Great place for Route 66 souvenirs. We must of caught the owner in a great mood after reading some of these reviews, because we really enjoyed him telling us the history of the place and history of his car. Prices were reasonable and no charge to enter.
I read so many reviews with old rude man. Seems like we’ve been lucky enough as we met nice lady there instead. She had loads of tips for us and she was really kind. This is nice small museum with gifts that you can buy for others or yourself. It’s a bit expensive there but some things are real and authentic.
Very cool place! You can't take pictures inside the store, but you can un the area outside and in a room with a lot of cool memorabilia
I'm intrigued how the owner can be rude with people who help him to keep the memories alive. So he asked me to take off my mask to go inside the store. Besides that, the store is charming and the gas station too.
What a fun spot! A stroll down Williams’ historic Route 66/Main Street is like rolling back the clock to the days of motoring on the Mother Road.
Wish we had more time to explore, but a thunder storm rumbled, and we got caught in an early-November sleet storm leaving on Highway 17 toward higher altitudes. At least we had a tempting glimpse of Pete’s old-timey gas station before the downpour.

Magical! Wander Camp was the highlight of our trip to the Grand Canyon! It was very comfortable, clean, and cozy. A very unique experience! The people were friendly and helpful! We had the best nights of sleep. There are no words to describe the nig
Great vacation. The train ride was awesome. We stayed in February and the lesser amount of people was nice. Stayed in GCV for two nights and rode back. That was the perfect amount of time to see most of the south rim canyon views and check it all out
As I read in another review, it did feel like you were staying at Grandma's house. I liked the very affordable alternative to the usual chains. Nice room, very cute place, easy to park and a great location to walk to lots of places to eat and shop. W
Although a bit more pricey than other options in Williams I think it was well worth it. Nice newer facility that is clean and well maintained. Large rooms. Good hot breakfast that was well stocked. Pool was warm and hot tub was hot. Staff allowed me
