Petco - Pet store in Brooklyn - 241 37th St, USA

I took my dog for a grooming session at this location and I don’t know what happened but the aftermath was not so great . My dog has never had issues getting groomed before, so I wanted to give this location a try and the price was over charged ($140) for literally just shaving my whole dog bald. Now I am aware my dog had some knots in his fur but even his shaving was uneven, but the worst part was that my dog had scrapes & cuts throughout some parts of his body.

I come here every week or two and the place is always understaffed. It’s not the employees fault - they are typically great. My problems; They’re usually out of crickets and the last two times I went they were empty so I asked when they get a delivery and received three diff answers over 2 visits. One time I told the cashier I needed help with crickets and no one came so then I called the store… while in it…. And still waited 15 min more. Also, I recently bought the Bootique Coffin dog bed and after a few days I noticed it was INFESTED with fleas. I don’t even have the proper money to take care of the flea problem they created so that’s great. When I called the store and asked about it they apologized and asked if I still had the bed… obviously not lol. SO I wasn’t offered a refund on the $35 flea bed that is costing me $200+ to counteract. As a grooming and training store i guess it’s normal for them to have some fleas??

Alex was amazing in answering all my questions and concerns for my dog mocha. The place was very clean and I loved that there are separate rooms to wait for the vet to be seen. Alex was so nice!! I would love to have her help me again, very knowledgeable. Thanks, Alex

I went to petco for pictures with Santa. While there I purchased feeder insects for my lizards and a few $.49 fish for my classroom. I had a wonderful conversation with the vet staff regarding the virus that is affecting dogs currently. The staff love the animals who come to visit the store

Took my 75lb almost 10mo great pyrenees mix to get groomed here. Got the basic bath, nail clipping, etc. He came back looking magnificent and fluffy and soft. The groomers there are super nice, and I could tell they loved dogs. They did a great job. The price seemed good compared to other places in the area. I will definitely be back! Very pleased.

I just want to put this in the beginning, I do not purchase animals from big pet stores like this. It's just a personal preference, so this review has zero to do with the animals sold here. For those wondering though, they do sell fish, small birds, hamsters, mice and rats (small selections) I have purchased pet products here and haven't had any issues with anything. The store itself is organized and clean, while the employees are friendly and helpful. They also have a pretty decent selection of dog/cat products. The store does sell reptile items and birds supplies but at a limited quantity. I have also seen some cats up for adoption in the store at one time so that's great!

The girl with glasses with tattooed eyebrows her name is Julia and another person told me that she is the manager, she "helped" me with 4 mice, I want to make it very clear that she has the worst attitude that a person can have in customer service, she scolded me because I asked her for a second box and she was arrogant and poorly educated. Petco definitely have to find BETTER PEOPLE..
