Permanent Vacation - Cocktail bar in Maitland - 106 Lake Ave, USA

This place is so fun! Austin was our server and he was great. Explained the menu to us (different categories are different strengths), and was overall a good time. It’s Halloween themed right now so we ordered from the limited menu. I got the Razor Teeth (the yellow-y drink), and my husband got Neck Bolt (the tall blue drink). Mine was STRONG, so if that’s what you’re looking for I definitely recommend. They also have mocktails, but no beer or wine. I love that they make all of their juices for the drinks in house. It gives the drinks a special touch. We also ordered the zesty sticks for a little snack and they were alright. Liked them but won’t crave them. Only downside to this place is you have to get a reservation right when it opens up if you want a weekend time, but it’s also worth it. Smaller spot so it makes it intimate. We will absolutely be back!

I wish there was another star to give for atmosphere…. It was great. It is small and cozy with a great nautical vibe. Great soundtrack with fun special effects. There are a couple more private areas, long bar, and a number of tables. The drinks were excellent and strong. They do cost more than a typical drink but they are stronger and made with great ingredients. The food was surprisingly fantastic. All in all an extremely great date night venue. Worth the 40 min drive for us.

A fun night out. The food is exceptional but can take awhile to get. The drinks are good and the atmosphere is fun. It's a full experience and a great place to take friends but the sound effects can be a little loud and the stools, while beautiful, are incredibly uncomfortable.

I can’t speak for the food as we didn’t have any our first time but everything else was absolutely awesome! We ended our evening by checking this place out for my husband’s bday and I’m so glad that we did. Alyssa was our server and she was incredibly helpful and kind. Give that gal a raise! The drinks were super fun and delicious. I got the Rainmaker which also comes with a fun little musical ditty when they deliver it to your table. The place is super small and intimate so I’m sure it’s busy on the weekends. We went on a Wednesday night and there were plenty of seats available. The little details were so fun! Especially the map mural near the bathroom. Can’t wait to come back with friends in the future!

Stepping into Permanent Vacation Speakeasy, located stealthily inside The Copper Rocket, immediately gives an ambiance of secrecy and allure. The size limitation is immediately evident — it's cozy, intimate, and reservations are non-negotiable. While this can contribute to an exclusive feel, the limited seating does raise concerns about the venue's adaptability to handle multiple guests. Our previous experience at The Copper Rocket made us wary about ordering food, given they share the same kitchen. While the server at the speakeasy was personable and adept at describing their drink offerings, it was the taste that ultimately fell flat. Of the three drinks we tried, only one lived up to its visual appeal and presentation theatrics. The synchronization of sounds with certain drinks being served is a unique touch, and the overall theming, with lights and effects, certainly adds to the experience. A friend's response about "horrible drinks" seemed spot-on after our tasting. While it's a novel concept and has the potential to be a memorable spot, the taste needs to match the spectacle for repeat patronage. All said and done, Permanent Vacation is worth a visit for the experience, but it's a one-time affair for us. The place thrives on its aesthetic but needs to refine its core offerings to ensure customers come back for more than just the ambiance.

Wonderful tiki bar. Extremely cute atmosphere. What I found really amazing it was how delicious the food was. The drinks were equally as good very strong and the server did a great job explaining the menus and recommendations. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

We were able to get a late night reservation. Definitely a cool themed bar. It is small inside but the staff made you feel welcomed. The drinks were very good (primarily Rum based if you haven't had tiki cocktails before. But there are some other spirit drinks). We didn't order food, but what came out of the kitchen looked good. If you're able to get a reservation, give this place a try!

It’s a tiki vibe on steroids. Great food and amazing rum based drinks. Even the gin drink was great!! They have a treasure map style menu and it’s categorized based on drink strength. Some of the drinks even come with a “show”! Highly recommend.
