My sister-in-law and I came to Martha’s Vineyard for the first time. It did not disappoint! The staff throughout the Pequot Hotel were pleasant and always went out of their way way to make things perfect. We stayed in room 12 that had two twin beds plus a balcony. What a relaxing spot! Not only was it quiet but the bedding was very comfortable and the room was extremely clean. We did bring a car and never had a problem finding parking out front (Note: There is no parking lot and it was off-season when we were there but no issues finding a spot). The daily breakfast was delicious and included quiche, assortment of breads/bagels/muffins, waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, hot/cold cereal and a few other items. Also, on Sunday, we found mimosas & then on Monday evening a wine and cheese party with a live guitarist singing. AND, as others have mentioned, there are delicious cookies every day around 3 PM with some beverages, such as tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the lobby.||When we had questions for the front desk, they were always pleasant and helpful. We did get a map that someone pointed out different things to see and a typed up self-guided tour of some great spots on the island which included a hidden gem: Alley’s General Store. ||You’ll also find beach towels (ask front desk) and beach chairs. Plus there are a few places to unwind including the front porch with several rocking chairs or out back on the patio with small tables with chairs.||This gem of a hotel is a short walk to town or the beach but tucked away on a quiet residential street to sit back and relax. It’s the perfect place to call home when visiting Martha’s Vineyard!
The Pequot was excellent in every way! We have been to many hotels on the vineyard and this one is the best by far ! We stayed in the Annex and it was adorable , like a sweet cottage room! The shower and room was immaculate thanks to Pansy who takes pride in her spotless upkeep of the rooms! The bed linens and pillows were fabulous! The staff goes out of their way to provide a delightful breakfast, wine, music and cheese parties, afternoon chocolate chip cookies and hot cider or lemonade all day. The value cannot be beat, we will be back any time we come to the Vineyard! It was so hard to leave! THE BEST!!!!!
What a wonderful stay! Breakfast was delicious. The hotel featured a wine and cheese evening with live music, so nice! Room was clean. The hotel was located within walking distance to town. I would definitely stay here again.
During my first trip to Martha’s Vineyard in 2011 I was lucky enough to discover The Pequot Hotel and I’ve been going back annually ever since! This property is pure gold (and walking distance to all things Oak Bluffs). It’s so nice to be welcomed by the same faces year after year, it truly feels like home. Staying in the middle building, you get to enjoy looking out over the beautiful courtyard. The rooms are cozy and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. I would still be staying in the middle building had I not talked it up so much that now friends come with me! We’ve stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment (which is larger than some apartments I’ve lived in) and the Bi-Level Queen suite. The apartment is fully loaded with a comfortable living room, 3 bedrooms, full kitchen, and bathroom as well as a private porch out front. The Bi-Level Queen suite is located right off the kitchen / breakfast area. I can’t tell you how wonderful it was waking up to the smell of fresh baked muffins! I had a slight hesitation about this suite thinking it might be noisy with folks eating breakfast, but it was quiet as could be. All the rooms have always been quiet and all beautifully appointed. The entire hotel is so welcoming. There is no better place to sit than on the front porch, or even the back garden (a hidden gem, if you ask me). Lisa and her team are absolute pros and go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. From the spread provided at breakfast to the fresh baked cookies and refreshments daily, the porch parties, the list goes on and on. I am so thankful I discovered the Pequot all those years ago. We just returned home yesterday and are already planning and looking forward to our trip next fall.
We were so happy to come back to the Pequot during Labor Day weekend this year. Brings back such special memories. When we first came to the Vineyard it was during Labor Day weekend and we found this quaint hotel in a perfect location, really when I say perfect, as it is walking distance to the busy oak bluffs harbor and downtown as well as the beach. But what really makes us keep coming back is not only the location but the heart and the soul of the place. The people making our stay unforgettable - Lisa and the staff who would do everything above and beyond to satisfy every need and answer every question. Pequot made us fall in love with the vineyard and we have been coming back to stay at the annex room on the 2nd or 3rd floor every time. We love the main house rooms and also the sunrise suite. You are in for a treat w/ that one. |What we discovered on our trips over the years is that Pequot is a home base with all the amenities ( including breakfast I DONT have to make ;) leaving you free and able to explore and find new things every time. The ginger bread houses, cuircut ave, water sports if you love to get on the water like jet skiing, sailing, touring the island and the beautiful beaches vistas and dont forget the lighthouses. The history of the island is amazing and Pequot makes sure you not only get a great stay but also get educated thru having a local historian and speaker visit at the hotel and offer talks and tours. And as the old saying goes: it’s not what they say to you at the hotel but how they make you feel. That’s why we keep coming back. It’s a one of a kind experience. Thank you Pequot. See you in 2024!
Very nice little hotel, close to the beach. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. Hope to be back here sometime! They give you buffet style breakfast that is nice and they have cookies and coffee and tea in the lobby in the afternoon.
I’ve lost track of how many years we have been coming here. But each year, I feel like we are coming “home”. That’s the feeling the staff and everyone at Pequot give their guests. They provide everything! Beach chairs and towels for sunny days and games and an extensive collection of books for rainy days. And always ( seemingly) unlimited iced lemonade and chocolate chip cookies for afternoon lounging on the porch in rocking chairs or the porch swing surrounded by beautiful hanging baskets of flowers and the sound of wind chimes. Almost a zen experience! But it’s the people who make this special. I’m dairy free and gluten free and their breakfasts always offer me healthy and delicious options. People at the front desk are always kind, cheerful and willing to help with any special needs. We don’t even consider staying anywhere else. We have everything we need here for our perfect vacation! Thank you Lisa ( and Jill and everyone). |The Fouhy Family
We had a great stay this September, we spent 10 gorgeous days at the Pequot. We have been back every year since 2017 (sometimes a couple of times in the year) and have loved our stays every time. Thanks, to all the staff who have always been exceptionally helpful and warm, making our stay comfortable and fun with tips for places to visit, new coffee places or restaurants, breakfast and the cookies.
We had a wonderful 2 night stay for a wedding in the area. The check in process was easy, David was very friendly! Made it feel like staying with a friend. Our room was very clean and updated nicely. The bathroom is a little small but certainly ample
Fantastic experience with this place. The staff was super friendly and attentive - their presence added even more warmth to the storybook charm of the hotel and the hotel's incredible central location. The rooms are cute and clean, and offer a view (
New fresh takes on MV gear that are timeless yet on trend. Quality material that holds up after several washes. Picture below with Roger the owner. Kind sweet man. Highly recommend.
We made a reservation weeks in advance to make sure we got in, and I'm so glad we did. Everyone that worked there was so friendly, and the decor is so cute. While all the food and drinks were delicious, the vegan crab cakes were absolutely incredible
Who knew a bowling alley could have such great food? We were skeptical when we were told how good the food is at Barn Bowl & Bistro, but having been there about a dozen times now, we're convinced. They serve up great dishes with consistency and at a

What a treat to experience the oldest platform carousel ride in America! Give little ones a heads up that the horses are stationary - unlike todayâs amusement park horses. Plus, donât miss out on the ring game. Try to win a free ride by grabbing

I don't like to use superlatives really... And I'd absolutely consider myself a foodie. But I can unequivocally say: this was one of the top 5 meals I've had in my entire life. Holy moly. I was almost in tears when I had the first bites. We ordered

Hands down, The biggest and BEST shrimp roll that I ever ate!! The chowdaahh was also up there with the best I have ever had. The prices were high as expected up in Cape Cod, but it was so worth it! The server was super friendly and efficient. The re
