Really enjoyed the food. Meat portion in Taco was very generous (with quality) The yellow chili with seasoning was amazing...the sauce bar with fresh radishes was welcoming. Overall the food was very good, already scheduled a date this month to drive back from San Diego for another round of Tacos.

I start by saying I find it interesting that Google reviewers have Pepe's listed at 5 stars, and Yelp rating is 3. I found Pepe's on Google while searching for "best crunchy tacos near Los Alamitos". Thank goodness I found them on Google as I may have skipped them if my search was on Yelp as my rating for Pepe's is a solid 5 stars. I ordered 1 papas (potato) taco, 1 shredded beef taco, and 2 chilis. They have a nice salsa bar that includes sliced radishes, limes and pickled onions. The potato taco was everything! I'm a beef eater and found the potato taco VERY satisfying! Delicate, light, fluffy, whipped potatoes in that crisp fried shell, ice cold finely shredded lettuce and cheese...hit it with the spicy salsa and have a bite of the seasoned chilis with every bite of your taco...heaven! The shredded beef taco was equally great! Nice portion of beef in the taco. The chilis are salted and covered in some seasoning, chamoy maybe? I don't know what it was, but I do know they were the best I've had. So good! I'm adding Pepe's to my list of must hits whenever I'm in town. I'm so mad we don't have one in San Diego! I recently visited Pepe's Finest Mexican Food and found the ambiance to be loud, similar to most fast food places. There is plenty of indoor seating available, making it convenient for a quick meal or dine-in experience. The staff at Pepe's Finest Mexican Food was very kind and accommodating. Despite the restaurant being busy and having a waitlist, they went above and beyond to make sure we were seated, even going past their stopping point for the waitlist. However, I found the food to be rather bland and lacking in flavor. The Sopes were decent, but not exceptional. On the other hand, the Potato Tacos stood out as a highlight with their delicious flavor and texture. Unfortunately, the Bean and Cheese Burrito didn't meet expectations and lacked flavor. Overall, Pepe's Finest Mexican Food offers a convenient and ample seating experience with a friendly staff. I love their hard shell tacos 🌮 they are so good and they're fat tacos not skimpy at all.

Flavor was good but the carne asada burrito was the greasiest burrito I've ever had. Opened it up and ate what little I could, just damn.

I love this place. Has best Mexican food in town. Does not have soups or birria. But tacos and the rest are on point. This location is in Hawaii gardens, across from casino. They also do not carry shrimp, there is a location down the street for that one. Customer service is amazing. Always clean. Tasty food

They are so kind here and so well staffed! The food was delicious (I got chicken flautas) and the proportions were nice. The side of guacamole was also a large portion.

The best... My favourite shredded beef red enchiladas. The combo / plate is served with tasty rice, refried beans, shredded cheese and guacamole. The Salsas Bar is great... For $15, you can have a satisfying delicious meal. GFC
