Stopped in without a reservation on a Thursday afternoon. We were greeted with a glass of rose and a seat near the magnificent fire place. Don't let the drive in fool you, the views from the tasting room are spectacular! We were paired with Alexis for our tasting and boy is she knowledgeable about wine! (check out her certifications! 🤓) Alexis was super personable a ton of fun and able to dumb down the explanations for us common tasters 😝. We had an absolute blast and will be recommending Penner-Ash to friends and family. The Pinot was exceptional and it was just an all around positive experience. Can't wait to come back! Oh, and there are both J1772 and Tesla NACS electric car chargers on site for guests 🚗⚡️🔋🔌
There are so many wineries to choose from in this area but we are so glad we decided to visit Penner-Ash. We had a private tasting hosted by Jessica who was absolutely amazing! Her enthusiasm for the brand and wine was obvious and made the tasting so much more enjoyable than others we did. The wine was also some of the best we had on our visit. The gardens are beautiful and the view is stunning. Be sure to add this to your list of places to visit on your wine journey.
Aside from the top tier wine, Reid was BY FAR the best host I have had the pleasure of experiencing. His passion, enthusiasm, and charisma elevated our tasting experience. We had a set of wineries to taste following Penner-Ash, and I was disappointed that Reid couldn’t come with us because our time at Penner-Ash was unmatched. I would recommend anyone to visit this tasting room, from folks just starting their wine journey’s, to those who know everything there is to know about wine. Without a doubt, we will be back.
First, thanks to Reed, who was our host, and guided us through the tasting. A wonderful experience.
We tasted 3 pinots, simultaneously, same year but from 3 different acreages. THAT was very interesting indeed. Never done that before. Very creative.
We ended up with some wine, plus membership in the wine club.
Total Score.
Thanks Reed.
7 wineries in 3 days. All in all, not too aggressive. Thankfully, we saved Penner-Ash for last. We keep coming back here. Not just for the wonderful wine, but for the great view, lovely people, and restful experience of hanging out in the lovely tasting room, then sitting with friends on the lawn overlooking the vineyard.
I firmly believe there's no such thing as perfect, but every time we visit, I'm reminded that working toward perfection is worth the effort.
One of the best patio views in the Willamette Valley. Wines were good with a nice flight for tasting. The two tasting bars did get a little clogged with people just hanging around sipping but luckily about 1/2 way through our tasting one of the hosts started going around the patio to pour.
After the tasting I inquired about the Syrah (not on the tasting flight) and was bluntly told there was none to taste but I could buy a whole bottle. I was then informed that they don't ship to Ohio which was odd because I've had at least 4 other OR wineries ship there.
Overall a good visit but you won't find me running back to buy a case of untasted wine.
My wife and I visited Penner-Ash in Mid-Sept for a tasting which included a short tour of the vineyard. Our visit immediately preceded harvest, and touring and sampling wines from the estate vineyard ripe with grapes was a memorable experience. The tasting patio offers a stunning view of the Chehalem Creek to the east. Our host Alex was knowledgeable and provided good insight into the various Pinot Noirs during our tasting. The flight was very good overall; however, the 2018 Estate Pinot Noir and 2017 Zena Crown Pinot were our favorites. Also notable was their 2020 Rogue Valley Viognier which had the refreshing floral, stone-fruit notes which we love in the variety. Recommended.
We had an excellent visit at Penney Ash. All the staff, including Alex who worked with us, were incredibly kind and informative. The wine was delicious and the set up of the tasting was vey unique. Beautiful setting as well.

First off all the staff here are super friendly! I recently revisited this place and they are so spacious now. They have outdoor patio seating and two spacious rooms for indoor seating. Their patio area is neat, very nice, and relaxing to be out ther
What a sweet little shop! Friendly and helpful customer service, without crossing the line into being pushy. Great selection of locally sourced and often hand crafted items. I found perfect Christmas gifts for two people on my list. I will definitely
Best Thai food in town. Incredibly yellow curry with exactly the right amount of spice. And every one of the appetizers is amazing. I wish they were open later! Currently, their dinner service is 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Don't miss it!!!
We love Luckee Dutch Bakery. The best place for delicious pastries that donât even taste gluten & wheat free.
They did an AMAZING job with the pastries and cake we purchased for a baby shower. Highly recommended! ð¥°
