We were coming home from vacation. This was a good place to stop just to take a break. It's our second time here doing the same thing. Outhouses there which are well maintained. There's places to sit in the view are the lake is nice. You can also drive into the campground and there's a restroom inside there. There's geocaches in the area so that's another reason why we stopped.
Pelton Pond looked very beautiful on Sunday, with snow and sun...Reached Stillwater and looped back on very well kept trails (except for a large fallen tree). It's unusual to see snow and deep blue water at the same time. Ponds are usually frozen at this time of the year...

Very pretty Nature Trail, 1.5 miles, that meanders around the pond. Connecting trails for cross country skiers & snowshoes. Nice open lodge with 2 fireplaces that overlooks the pond. Lots of picnic tables & fire pits for BBQ. Large parking lot. Imagine it would get crowded in the summer.
great place for a picnic. 1 mile loop around the lake for an easy walk or you can go further in the trail and enjoy a few more miles in the woods.
