DO NOT STAY AT THE PELICAN INN LOCATED IN GONZALES LA!! My fiancé has been in hospital over a week and we live 4.5 hrs away. After a week of sleeping on that couch I needed an actual bed so I decided the closest hotel would do. Unfortunately I was dead wrong. I came in room seemed clean it smelled nice I was exhausted so I climbed in the bed. So about 2:30 on 3-5-2024 I woke up to use the restroom and when I get back a massive bed bug crawled across the pillow. I killed and kept it so I could fill an incident report and get a refund and I probably would have stopped there. Only for the night lady to inform me they don’t do refunds or incident reports. I bet they did one if I trashed that disgusting room. I’m begging you please find a cleaner place to stay this was a nightmare all the way around. I’ll be contacting a lawyer to ensure they pay for my clothes and now car to be cleaned and sanitized. I’d give negative stars if I could
I've seen a lot of bad reviews on this place. But upon checking in my room was spotless. The service was very, very good and very friendly. Yes, it's an older hotel but it has been well kept. The beds are very comfortable. For the price. You can't be better in this city.
Awesome place close to nearly everything and great staff all in all great places abs great people
Only giving two stars cause the room was clean. The guy behind the desk was friendly but he was gaming and watching TV with headphones. Had to knock on the window outside the receptionist office to get his attention and his desk was littered with trash. Our room was right above the lobby/receptionist desk and all night you could hear traffic like you were outside. Cars with loud music checking in and trucks with rumbling engines checking in, like you standing outside instead of in your room. Worst sleep ever at a hotel. I even had white noise machine and it did nothing. Do not recommend if you are a light sleeper.
We had to stay here because all the reasonable price inns near New Orleans is full because of a convention. The room we were given was not able to open and the Indian dude could not even open it. He had to give us another room but he act like he does not know what he is doing and it was hard understanding him. The room had an unpleasant smell and was kind of dirty, I felt like I was going to get sick if I stayed another day there. So only stay here if you are freaking desperate.
They don't clean properly.... the shower and tub are dirty!!! Soap scum mold mildew. The walls and doors are also nasty.
Worst Hotel experience I had in a very long time. If I could give negative points I would! It alsready started when we checked in. The Front Desk personal was unprofessional. He even couldn't give me any information when I asked . At one point an hour later when I returned to the Front Lobby at 6pm, the person was asleep on the couch. Now he told me to return at 2am to get my questions answered. Entering the Hotel room, it was dirty, an awful smoke/candle smell, toilet was not functioning at all but again no accommodations where made cause I wasn't able to get a hold of the Person up front. At this point I contacted Expedia ( I booked the Hotel with) They tried calling as well and they had no success as well. I also noticed that I accidentally booked 2 nights. When Expedia reached out to Hotel agai to see if any accommodations could be made. The Hotel denied the request and I was charged the 2 nights. I would been fine with paying a penalty Fee since it was a mistake on my part but after the how the hotel room was presented I expected some sort of understanding. Which was denied. I work in the Customer Service and this was definitely less than poor. If you are in the area or just passing through, look for a better option. There are plenty around.
My wife and I spent one night in this hotel on Feb 8th. Upon arrival the woman at the front desk was friendly, helpful, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. We checked into room 177 and on entering the room we found it very clean and modern. Appeared to be recently renovated. The property out side was also in good condition. I had two complaints with the room. 1/ there were no USB outlets in the room which is apparent in most hotel/ motel, rooms there days. Here is the bad part.. the shower. The ceiling had not been properly sealed and the plaster and tape was falling off. Next there appeared to be black mould in the corners if the tub surround. I’m not saying it was black mould because I am not an expert but it looked like black mould. Other than that the room , staff and the stay was great. One more thing. There is no continental breakfast.
My stay was very pleasant. The cleanliness and quality of my room was GREAT! Friendly and genuine staff assisted as needed. I did not enjoy Breakfast. They could offer better choices of food. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will stay again!
I was greeted by a friendly front desk clerk. The room and property were clean. Staff was great, breakfast buffet was well stocked and kept tidy. Perfect location for shopping at the outlet mall. Loved the Christmas Tree in the lobby!
Overall the stay was good. The rooms were clean , the location was good. One important piece of info is they don't serve breakfast. They do have coffee in the snack area but was rarely warm unless you use the coffee on the go option. Our first night
They recently remodeled so I donât know how it looked like before, but when I walked in it was very clean very pretty very nice and I went before Christmas in the month of December and it smelled like Christmas in there. The lady who took care of
Super cool place to go on a date night or a outing with a group of friends. It is BYOB so bring you snacks and such in tow if you know you'll be there for a bit. Clean place with neat decor. Helpful staff, the young lady that worked this evening was
My son goes there for athletic training and I can see an overall improvement in his athleticism. I am a middle aged mom and I decided to join since they offered a great package for adults. I have been going for over a month, and I am feeling with mo
