This is a great local park in Lynchburg, Virginia. I spent about two hours playing pickle ball on the tennis courts. It has a surprisingly large tennis court, and lots of other fields around, some great walking paths, and a great restroom. I was surprised by the quality of this park and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a sunny afternoon Enjoying the outdoors.
This is such a great park! It's got updated playground equipment, a baseball field and a FRISBEE GOLF COURSE that is really nice! It even has the distance to the baskets and they just added a second set of baskets that's a little closer from the tee for those of us who don't want to play the longer holes.
I have been to a LOT of parks all across the nation, and honestly without hesitation on my first visit I can say this is absolutely one of my favorites! It's a beautiful combination of sports and outdoor life, there is literally something for everyone here. From football, soccer, rugby fields to the baseball and field hockey fields, to the absolutely epic disc golf course, paths for walking biking and hiking through both open fields and wooded areas. A beautiful stream with access for dogs to drink, amenities all through the park make it easy to make a day of it, bathrooms, water, concession stands (that I assume only open during certain games), things to clean up after you dog, everything! My dog and I truly enjoyed every part of this park! So many beautiful smiling faces, loved watching everyone playing disc golf and ball and rising around and hiking, so many wonderful aspects of nature, medicinal plants and mushrooms everywhere, truly a reflection of the abundant blessings of life. I will be back and absolutely recommend to everyone in the area or passing through to stop by!
Went here with my family for disc golf. It was our first time and definitely challenging. The course goes throughout the park and even into the woods, very cool! I also came back a couple weeks later to use their tennis court. There was a bin with community rackets for people to borrow who didnt have one which I thought was very sweet.
Whether biking, running, or walking this place is great. Bringing your animals for exercise or playing sports this park has a wide range of activities. Parking is great and the park is very spread out to give yourself privacy. The city keeps the park in great condition
Excellent bike trails that GLOC maintain very well. I haven't used the facilities but they look clean and well maintained.
We love Peaks View Park!! There are so many things to do and places to explore! Absolutely love it. My Chloe ( great dane) loves it too! She could stay there all day, if I let her.
One of my favorite parks in the area. They have nice workout stations. There is plenty of paved walk ways to run and bike on. If you like mountain biking there is paths to ride on. Also, there is pavilions to have a cookout. All around an awesome park that is very well maintained!

Awesome view! Tunnel can see through Mount Rushmore Monument. Car can stop on side to take a peak for a few minutes. Our Tour Bus went through this tunnel.
The renovations made to the grounds, overlook, and added picnic tables are absolutely perfect. I have been using this park for more than 50 years, and find it an absolutely joyful, relaxing oasis in our city. Users, please take care of this treasure

Coming from a born and raised New Yorker this is by far the best pizza in town. And not even just the pizza everything I've had on the menu is incredible. The staff is phenomenal, you really get the family atmosphere when you talk to them. My particu

We stayed in the hotel. It was very clean and provided all that we needed. We were at a conference and the conference room had an amazing view. We also went up to the lookout and there was a spectacular view, including a handmade stone cross. The po
Chose to ride my bike here and visit one of my loved ones bricks, while at the same time to enjoy the wonderful views of the park. Loved the fountain and loved all the greenery. Hats off to the people maintaining this place. Would definitely be back
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful tour from Anne Spencer's granddaughter. The stories she shared of visiting her grandmother, the Harlem renaissance poet and civil rights activist, and playing in the gardens brought back sweet memories of visiti
LOVEworks sculpture. You can't miss the sculpture as you walk toward the trail. The sculpture's design incorporates items that make this portion of the James River Heritage Trail unique including: footprints, bicycle wheels, boat oars, and skate/ ska
What a great duo! We really enjoyed the food and the lovely couple who run the place. Whatâs more, the menu presents something quite unique, a choice between Mediterranean and Indian food, which both were wonderfully made! And the mango lhasi is i
