I have a friend that works for Paya Thai. I stopped by to say hello and ended up ordering the 5 piece fish n chips. I was blown away. The cuisine was delicious. I ordered it to go but couldn't wait, so I tried a bit. I want everyone reading this review to know Paya Thai is so worthy of your patronage. The menu was broad. The service was to tier ( as fast food businesses go). I spoke at length with the owner of the history of her restaurant. She was warm and passionate about the service she provides. I stopped in today 9/15/2023 and tried the clam chowder...OH MY GOD...the best I've tasted in all my 67 years. I highly recommend you visit this wonderful Fish&Chip restaurant. Plenty of seating. Great atmosphere for the whole family. Located in the Fraighhouse Square at Tacoma Dome Station , downtown Tacoma.

The kindest people that are very concerned about you enjoying your food! Checked on us multiple times and served very generous portions! If you want fresh fish and chips and chowder this is the place!!

Fast, efficient, and well-fried. We asked the lady working the cash register how long an order would take. She said five minutes and recommended the 3-piece cod and fries combo. We were already served our food before we even sat down at the table ten feet away. They even cleaned the table for us and gave us complimentary mints. Would recommend this place for quick service and great fish and chips!

Very good lightly battered fish that was super crispy. It was 3 o’clock in the afternoon and the grease they used for frying was in great condition for frying. The fries were also just as very good and the clam chowder decent. A bit salty, like most, but full of chunky goodness. The fish is a bland fish and the batter is a on the bland side but that is how good fish and chips should be. It’s perfect with the tartar sauce and malt vinegar. The two people there cooking and ringing everything up seemed like they were the owners. They were very nice, brought our food out to the table and bused the table after we left. The Mr. even checked on us during our meal and this is not a full service restaurant. They had a “GREAT” score from the health department displayed and it looked to deserve the score. It’s not the best atmosphere as it’s in a complex that is attached to other indoor walk up restaurant and shops down the way a bit like a flea market back east. We drive there from Puyallup just for this meal but worth the drive.

Came here for business and can't help but sing praises for this place. Firstly, super down to earth, couple, amazing service. Ordered a 2 piece cod combo, and was served within 5 minutes. The clam chowder blew me away, completely loaded and flavor packed, the fish was fresh and not overbreaded. Definitely going to be one of my go to spots whenever I visit Tacoma! Keep it up!

Great fish & chowder, and such good fries! For the fried items - it's always a delicious golden fried goodness. They have an awesome baked ling cod, that will sell out, if you get there late. Paya has the best deal and selection of drinks. No matter where we eat at Freighthouse Square, we get drinks here.

I am 74. I was with my niece and my daughter and my granddaughter. It was a fun atmosphere. Lots of high school kids there at their lunch time. It was fun watching them interact with each other. Food is always good. Fish and chips are great!

First time trying! And Was Not disappointed!!! Huge portions! Hand battered goodness!!! People work with pride! Support the Small Business!!! It's where the Best Food is at!!!
