Paul T Given County Park - Country park in Smithtown - W Main St, USA

This is a small park with access to Nissequogue River. There is river fishing off an old bridge and my favorite kayak launch. The river can be as shallow as 6 inches so if setting out to kayak upstream to State park. It is crucial to check the tide charts. It is about a 2.5 to 3 hr kayak ride to Nissequogue State Park. Kayak launching from up river to this park is also possible for a parking fee. Check tide schedules!! This river is full of wildlife. Turtles, fish, cranes, and other fowl. So peaceful. Kayak rentals are available from 3rd party private outfitters down the road.

It's a great canoe/kayak rental place! You paddle down the nissequogue river, and see some great wildlife and plant life. The owners of the rentals are very friendly. The trip is about 6 miles long.

Nice quiet place to launch. Great place to explore. Just watch the tides!

Excellent place to go kayaking with plenty of parking.

This park is a great place to launch kayaks and canoes into the Nissequogue River, but is very limited in terms of space for other activities one might want to do at a park. The dirt road between the main parking area and the boat launching site is deeply rutted and the overgrown scrub makes visibility on this path extremely limited.

Great spot for kayaking, can pull up right to the river to launch, decent amount of wildlife to observe. Can make it a short paddle or be out there the whole day

Spent the day kayaking on the nissequogue river. Stunning landscape, and a part of Long Island that most people probably have not seen. From the park by Sunken Meadow to the end of the navigable portion of the nissequogue River is about 7 miles, ending at the waterfall.
