I go here with a friend when weather is fine and we walk the trail, looking for deer and chatting about our lives. We've also taken the kids here on sunny Saturdays and just walk the trail. It's a relaxing experience.
Field trip with my autistic grandson they walk the trails picked up leaves, they had a guide who told about the trees . They saw a deer, and along the trail, he ran into his older brother, my other grandson you see his face to slide up with excitement.
What a lovely park! I was looking for a new park to explore since we were in the area for a XC meet. I read good things about this park and decided to try it. It fully measured up to our expectations. The path was wide enough for us to walk two or three abreast and still allowed for bikers or oncoming pedestrians to pass. The path meandered through large older trees so there was plenty of shade but enough openness to allow for breezes. The people were friendly, and one woman pointed out a group of 3-5 deer nearby. It appears as if this trail is part of a larger trail system so that one could have a longer walk, run, or bike ride. There were picnic tables, swings, restrooms, and a working water fountain. The grass was freshly mown and trimmed. Well done, Longview!
Our party of two took a short walk on the trail which was a wide concrete sidewalk. We would have loved to walk further but couldn't due to a serious storm the before.
Mud and a bit of water covered the path in one direction so we turned around because it was rather hot and not shaded.
The path in the opposite direction was shaded by beautiful large trees and after only a short distance we saw that it was unpassable because the stream was out of its banks. We saw evidence that the water level had been much higher.
Under better conditions this would be a great trail to hike.
I've been walking here since 2013. One of the best features of Longview. The trail and bathrooms are kept pretty clean, the folks you see walking along are friendly and the scenery is nice. I enjoy the extended trail which connects to Guthrie Park. The only drawbacks are that the trail floods nearly every time there is a good rain and afterwards parts of the trail are covered in mud until it is cleared off. The exercise stations and dog parks are great features as well.
Appreciate this flat, fast (concrete) section of the Longview city multi-use trail system. Great for running, walking, or cycling. Only a single street crossing along this stretch. Distance markers every 1/4 mile, good shade, several water fountains, and two restrooms along the way. Dog park at the north end of the trail.
My only knock against it is there is no/poor drainage along much of the trail, so a decent rain may leave sections of the trail inundated with water for days (particularly just north and south of H.G. Mosley). Once the water finally recedes you're left with thick sand and mud deposits caked across the trail.
My son and I enjoyed our three mile walk this evening. The Paul Boorman Trail is very beautiful and the temperature was warm but still comfortable. And there were a lot of other folks out there enjoying the trail as well. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors and burn off some calories. Also a good way to increase your heart rate! I highly recommend the Paul Boorman Trail. The deer seemed to be enjoying himself too.
This is the most beautiful amazing place to walk and enjoy nature...or bike....it's an absolutely beautiful trail all over Longview with beautiful bridges and occasionally work out stations on the the way and gorgeous scenery and play grounds and parks for the kids to enjoy...ive spent countless hours on these trails and playing under bridges with kids in water and playgrounds and picnics with my girlfriend.

Wonderful locally owned couple cooking up amazing Thai food for our East Texas area! They aren't open everyday but makes it so much more special when they are. A great lunch if you find yourself downtown.

Great place to have a basketball party ð¥³! Thank you, Aaron, for allowing us to host our son 10 birthday party at Stafford Wellness Center. Full court gym and half gym room off to the side.
Another Texas Monthly joint down. Iâm now at 20 places out of the 50. This one definitely lived up to the hype of the #4 ranked place in Texas. The brisket was so succulent. The sausage had a sweetness to it. Almost like a breakfast sausage. The Dr
